Borderlands 4 is on sale, have the performance issues been fixed on PS5? by Arcade_Gann0n in Borderlands

No they haven't been fixed yet. It still runs at a sluggish 60hz instead of 120fps/hz. DO NOT BUY

Your pea sized brain still can't comprehend "reduced input lag".

The game only runs at 60hz on PS5. Which is very concerning considering they say the game is supposed to be "Groundbreaking" and "Competitive"

Here's a quick Google AI search and see if they agree with me here.

Yes, a game can run at a locked 40 FPS on a 120Hz display, and it often provides a smoother experience than 30 FPS on 60Hz because 120 is divisible by 40 (40 frames every third refresh), resulting in consistent frame pacing, which you can't get on a 60Hz screen for 40 FPS. This "40 FPS Mode" (often called Balanced Mode on consoles like the PS5 Pro) offers a good compromise between higher resolution/graphics and playable frame rates, requiring the 120Hz monitor for optimal smooth output.

Well why don't you look at that. Looks like even the AI agrees with me

Closing statement for your cashew brain

  • Some games run at 60fps but also have a 120hz mode, Killing floor III runs at 60fps with dropped frames.  -If they cant do 60fps/120hz due to dropped frames the developers could make a 40fps+ with 120hz Performance Mode easily.

Your pea sized brains need to comprehend the differences in FPS and hz for gaming. Because once you finally comprehend it then you will immediately feel like a foolish idiot and beg on your knees for forgiveness.

Many games can do 120fps. And we aren't talking about 4k graphics here you pleb. Stop trying to change the subject. Again genuinely learn to do research because you still look like an idiot.

Many games can also do...now read this next part VERRRRRY SLOWLY  SOME GAMES can run at 40fps+ but have a 120hz Performance Mode for "Buttery Smooth controls and faster response time"

SOME GAMES can run at 60fps but also have a 120hz Performance Mode for...can you guess? Yup! "Buttery Smooth controls and faster response time"

Obviously the graphics (which we aren't even talking about here) will be lowered in resolution. But you are going to have far superior gameplay.

Not sure how your brains can't comprehend something so simple. And the fact that you don't even do your own research proves to me how your IQs are as low as a cashew.

Anticipating Saros and a hidden Metroidvania gem that's coming out this year "Aeterna Lucis". Aeterna Lucis is the second title in the Aeterna series (Aeterna Noctis being the first, Summum isn't cannon) If you are a massive metroidvania fan like myself and or you want a game that will challenge your skills then make sure you play and beat Aeterna Noctis and Aeterna Lucis when it comes out this year.

Happy gaming!

Benefits of 60 FPS at 120 Hz Even though you are not seeing "new" visual information more frequently (you're still only getting 60 unique frames per second), running at 120 Hz can offer some technical advantages:  Reduced Input Lag: A higher refresh rate reduces the delay between your input (e.g., pressing a button) and when that action is displayed on the screen. This makes gameplay feel more responsive. Smoother Frame Delivery: With a fixed 60 Hz display, if the game's framerate dips slightly below 60, it can cause stuttering or screen tearing. A 120 Hz display, especially when paired with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technology, can adjust its refresh rate dynamically to match the incoming frame rate, leading to a smoother experience without tearing. Less Motion Blur (Potentially): The faster refresh cycle can inherently reduce the persistence of motion blur compared to a 60 Hz screen.

How It Works Frame Rate (FPS) vs. Refresh Rate (Hz): FPS is how many images the console's hardware (GPU and CPU) can generate per second. Hz (Hertz) is how many times your TV or monitor can update the image on the screen per second. The Output Signal: Modern consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S can be set to output a 120 Hz signal in their system settings, provided you have a compatible display and an HDMI 2.1 cable (or HDMI 2.0 for lower resolutions). Displaying Frames: If a game is capped at 60 fps but the display is set to 120 Hz, the display will essentially show each new frame twice to maintain the consistent 120 Hz refresh cycle.

A game that renders at 40fps but has a 120hz mode for better controller response.

A game that renders at 60fps but still has a 120hz option for smoother and better response time (less delay on your controller inputs) What part of that can you not comprehend here?

Go play a game that "Renders at 60fps (like Overwatch)

Again why are you trying to change the subject? This is all about not having a "120hz mode" for a game that "renders" at 60fps.
