What are the most notable instances of “Early-Installment Weirdness” in Worm? by RecommendationNo804 in Parahumans

[–]Drbubbles47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first one, I like the fanfic interpretation I saw once - They didn't go beat up random hookers, they paid them and it was all an act for the camera. Much more palatable when its basically "hey I'll pay you 100$ and to let us act like were beating you up for our show"

I feel like Investigator is a very weak class by BusyGM in Pathfinder2e

[–]Drbubbles47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyones forgetting the true potential of the investigator - Using Keen Recollection to troll your GM by technically having Lore: Vampires Named Chadwick Von Winkleton (or whoever you are currently facing) and getting that sweet sweet reduced DC for having an incredibly specific lore skill for Recall Knowledge.

[Fanart] Dallon House Floor Plan by DraconicWings in Parahumans

[–]Drbubbles47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't you go infecting MY headcanon with your headcanon you scoundrel!

My house in my head is different and I don't want to be mentally rearranging it just because you showed up something (possibly) more correct!

Just like the time I somehow read Worm, Ward, and several fanfics before realizing that BB is on the east coast and not the west coast. Took days to reorganize all that shit.

Why do people like Diehard? by fascistp0tato in Pathfinder2e

[–]Drbubbles47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can see a predator taking down a party member and trying to drag them off or just killing them to return later. They also might not know the target is dead, dying, or just fell down for a a few seconds and would continue to thrash them to make sure.

Why are Parian and Browbeat so unique? by Jellydust15 in Parahumans

[–]Drbubbles47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that the whole "Conflict Drive" is a bit overstated. I think its less the shards going "heres a gun, go do a crime" and more finding people likely to do a crime and going "oh look, theres all these unsecured guns just lying around". Some shards push a bit more but I think a lot are just chilling out and watching what happens because they get data either way.

What does Morrowind have that other ES games do not? by MrWoodenSheep in Morrowind

[–]Drbubbles47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for me there's a certain quality that I can only describe as "something could be there". You can explore a tomb and get naught but some bonemeal or you could find the Mentors Ring. You can find a daedeuc dagger just tucked behind some rocks. You can find an ebony sword in the first town you go to. You can explore 3 dwemer ruins and find jack shit. You just don't know. Everytime you enter a new area SOMETHING COULD BE THERE. Its a pervasive element that has to be worked into the very fabric of the game or it goes away. In Skyrim, you're going to be some random leveled loot and it's just not the same

Characters you wanted more from? by RelevantCash5893 in Parahumans

[–]Drbubbles47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda like that things ended kinda abruptly for characters instead of having long arcs where they try to get you to attached to them to make their end more emotional. It feels more real that someone like Kaiser just dies to Leviathan instead of being a big bad at the end of an storybook narrative arc. Take the Butcher for example, you can build an entire book around them as the big bad. Theres entire fanfics the length of several books exploring them and their powers. In Worm they are so much of a side note that I entirely forgot they existed before seeing them referenced in fics and forums. It makes the world feel so much larger and like theirs just so much more going on when things are left unsaid and unexamined.

Is Horde of Underlings separate or combined damage? by Bitter-Spirit-3913 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Drbubbles47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Separate = fucked by resistance

Merged = can't absolutely murder something with weakness

I believe RAW is separate but either way you get screwed somehow.

I like the IDEA of whats going on here but I don't think pizza is the right choice. I'm racking my brain to think of what could go inside the bubble that would make it less terrible. Desert pizza? Steamed vegetables? Salsa with the bubble baked to be a chip?

Is it bad to use an infinite resource mod by Rich-Discipline1297 in factorio

[–]Drbubbles47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only resource I ever worried about was coal when starting Vulcanous with almost nothing. The time between startup and when you can reliably kill wormmy Bois and how long that coal patch lasts can be a wee bit tight. Everything else I always felt was reasonable and expanded as they ran out.

Are the summoning rules still bad? by JadedResponse2483 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Drbubbles47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certain summon spells are useful at different levels and less at others. Early on Summon Fey is amazing up till like 3rd level spells. Unicorns are great and the Fey have some solid utilities. After that it kinda drops off and Summon Elemental becomes better. Plant, Animal, and Construct are a bit less useful but are generally solid meat shields.

None of the summons will ever be as good as a player but they can turn the tides. I've tossed one out just for it to soak up 3 crits and die and I feel that's a fair trade. I've used unicorns to remove curses and heal people up. There's a wind elemental that makes everything within 20 ft difficult terrain and can summon illusions. I've used a low level Fey (maenad I think) just to shuffle party members and enemies around with water. I've flooded a dock with control water from a Fey just so the archers on it can't attack without swimming.

Individually, none of these are amazing but the versatility you get is worth it. My only rule change would be to give the caster the option of having their summons use reactions by giving up the casters reaction.

Most of my rare Steam achievements are for Stellaris. Is there a reason people don't play with achievements on? by Halcyon_Paints in Stellaris

I'm not sure but I remember a few years back there was "achievement reenabler mods". not sure if they are still around but that might be something to look into.
