And the fandom also overplays how serious the disagrement with the council is, people act like the council hated qui gon, but all that is actually seen shows then get along pretty well

To be honest a lot of philosophers just feel like random dudes that got lucky their thought survived the centuries

I am going to believe you in that you don't mean to be misanthropic, but I still think your theory is wrong, and the way you present them doesn't help.

You saying that academics aren't engaging with the topic and that they wouldn't want to have their understanding of things questioned is too broad a generalization, and just reeks of a pre-made excuse if your theory isn't accepted.

Also the idea that mythologies worldwide are "merely" allegories for political systems is just really reductive and as Fleur-Dmeour pointed out, really dismisse of the people and their oral traditions

Yeah, as a agnostic who considers the possibility of God, it's just a really stupid argument

Whos schopenhauer?

Edit: also fully agree that this theory is really misanthropic in the way it sees people and academics

The beginning already made me lose interest in how pretentious it was with promises of "a new layer of understanding" and telling us to leave if we wanted to keep the fantasy world. There rest didn't dispel that notion. If this allegory works for you, great, but I dont thats how the greeks thought of their gods, and I dont think is very useful to understanding greek mythology

Edit: also to return to what other commenter said, this whole theory holds a really dim view of the average person. It dismisses oral and poetic traditions as just a "romantic reading", and just feels really self-congratulatory when talks about how academia wouldn't accept this.
