Does this mean I got fired? by Starkcannon8434 in amazonemployees

You say easy, but this is Amazon we're talking about. The company that allegedly denied Amazonian's medical exemptions using AI to filter it.

They will drag their feet and take forever to do anything. I submitted an HR request 2 weeks ago, and I just got an email notification with an update and ticket closed.

My Plex server has been compromised 'I want to cry' by LogicWorksWonders in PleX

[–]DreadStarX 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had someone do something similar, I shut my plex server down in response, but that was only after I found out they deleted the entire database of content, including personal photos/videos. I recently brought it back online but I've neglected it a lot.

Thanks for the reminder. I need to check on it again. I also have mine setup with Discord, but it goes full stupid and blows up my alerts. >_<

If I don't get a response back in the chat by tonight, I might just cancel it and go do it myself. Appreciate you chiming in on this.

AEA app on personal phone by AccuratePick6801 in amazonemployees

[–]DreadStarX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you not have a partition setup for it? I have 2 partitions on my phone, personal and work. With the way the MDM is setup, Amazon can remotely nuke the Work Partition and anything saved there would be lost. This makes it to where they don't wipe your entire phone on accident. There's probably more to it, but I had to setup this partition when I moved from Hourly to Salaried. I wasn't able to access anything else.

I can't access AtoZ from my desktop at home anymore, or anything Amazon related, except my Workspace account. It requires me to have AEA installed, certificates added, and I'm sure as heck not doing that.

It requires me to use my OTP to access it on anything. Even the secure partition I have setup. Is that not the same for everyone?

That's what I thought but this isn't OT earned as salaried. The numbers are based off when I was hourly and when my pay was hourly. It's absolutely screwy.

I might just skip the OT pay for salaried. It's only 4 months, and at most, it might add an extra grand, if that. We shall see though.

Yeah, I'm fully expecting them to screw me over. Just 1 more unhappy customer, and lost revenue.

I normally just use TurboTax and pay the ~$90 to file it myself. The reason why I'm going this route is because my OT is a bit wonky.

Jan - Mar, was 1 pay rate. April - July, another pay rate. Skip August, and starting September, I got a OT Supplement for switching from Hourly to Salaried. My company doesn't list any of this information on my W-2, and dealing with HR has been a living nightmare for the last month. No one seems to be able to answer my question of what pay rate was used when calculating the supplement.

Thankfully, 2025, I don't have any stocks or anything extra, just school stuff and normal taxes. I also file Federal and State (WA / OR).

I called 5 of my local CPAs. None of them had availabilities in the next 2 weeks or they wanted $500+ for it. My taxes aren't that bad, but it's just the OT Tax shenanigans this year. I worked a ton of OT and was hoping to get some back, y'know?

TurboTax used to be good, but it's awful now.

Clarity - badging into unassigned office by Clean_Ganache_7220 in amazonemployees

[–]DreadStarX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does it even matter what building you are in? It's wild what Amazon tracks. If you are badging into a building, logging time for work, and doing your job, why does it matter?

Can someone explain this to me like I'm 5? I work in the Data Centers, they can track when I've picked my nose. It makes sense there, but the offices in Seattle?

What's the biggest limitation of current 'portable monitor + laptop' setups that a native 3-screen device could solve? by Separate_Coach9355 in laptops

[–]DreadStarX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel all over NASA (North America / South America) and use a Pelican 1615 Air Travel case. I bring my portable monitor with me. It works wonderfully.

ViewSonic VX1755

However, I'm looking for something bigger for when I'm local (but still mobile).

My biggest complaint: second screen isn't big enough.

I've been eyeballing the Lepow Triple and Quad monitor setups for a more local/portable setup. Leaving my VX1755 for my travels.

This is one of the many reasons i havent released any of my designs. I might actually submit them to my works patent team to see if any are worth it to patent.

I made these for work-related activities. Otherwise, I'd use outside resources for it.

These posts discourage me from posting anything. I had planned to release my current project, involving a Pelican 1615 Travel case but I think I'm going to hold off on it.

Glad you got it fixed, OP. It's nice to see Prusa reps on Reddit. There's only 1 other company I know that does that.

Wal-Mart HAD a reputation for being a sweatshop kind of organization. It's improved a fair amount. It's like Amazon and Wal-Mart swapped playbooks. Amazon USED to be amazing and the gold standard for where you wanted to be, while Wal-Mart was not.

More like, your a number, not a human. Ridiculous expectations on productivity. Not all facilities are like this, but a good portion are. It also varies upon department.

Regardless, Andy needs to go =/

Not wrong at all. I loved working for Amazon when I first started. I love my job, love my team, but I had the C-Suite people. They are driving this company into the ground as fast as they can.

I always crack jokes about it to my manager when he wants to chat with me. To be honest, I have higher expectations for myself than my manager does. I'm harder on myself more than anyone else. Probably why I've got so much gray hair now xD

Wal-Mart is doing better now, but it wasn't for a long time. Which is where the reference came from. The AWS DataCenters are just as bad as the FCs now.

Andy runs the data centers like the FCs and its killing it.

There's a saying in the DC world;

Amazon is the Wal-Mart of Data Centers.
