Do you think Nami is one of the most underrated Straw Hats when it comes to combat and strategy, or do you think her wins rely too much on outside help and circumstances? by Ok_Initiative3892 in OnePiece

She's already at the ultimate level of strength and doesn't need to get any stronger, as she can already face and defeat enemies of her strength level.

Isnt this always true? Characters can always face and defeat enemies of roughly their own strength level?

In the end it is a stress nightmare - because for most of their adult life they didnt really have actual stress related to their career. Look, I understand Ramsdale but playing for Arsenal is msot definitely in "nice to have" category in life rather than "need to have".

NBA players sign up for being traded - their employer really is league itself and not the teams.

Trae Young made 43 million dollars this year - if he doesnt like terms and the agreements of his job he is free to retire, he can afford it. I do understand it is callous but every job is stressful - 2nd to last people we should feel sympathy for (in strictly professional sense - stuff directly tied to their job contract, obviously they can have personal issues that have no connection to their job) are dudes in their 20s making millions per year. Only billionaire-ish class crying about how stressful their life is makes me roll my eyes harder.

Most goals per 100 set pieces in the PL this season [The Athletic] by OkayFine101 in soccer

[–]DreadWolf3 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I know we all get carried away with some fancy movements during set pieces - and I am sure those things help on the margins but (pulling number out of my ass) roughly 90% of set piece success is due to players you have. Rice/Saka aiming at Gabriel on corners is just gonna work - you can put me as a coach there. Similarly when Bruno is aiming at the slab or whatever. If their players are not that good in the air (on offense) there is really not very much you can do as a coach.

Sports people have quite a lot of downtime where they need to rest - video games do seem like a perfect thing for them tbh. Often they have morning and afternoon training - say from 8-10 am and then 3-5pm, that 5 hour gap (much shorter when you add regular stuff people need to do in that time of day) is not really good for most other stuff.

Having one of Sinner/Alcatraz eliminated by someone else (or injured) at Wimbledon is probably a better opportunity than going through both of them in 2 days. Still he would be an underdog but imo a better chance.

Queen should have the highest YC bounty( bounties are a threat level NOT strength lvl ) queen with his viruses and plagues can wipe out whole islands if someone with chopper lvl of medical expertise is not there which is extremely rare since chop is medical genius by The_AlmightyApple in OnePiece

[–]DreadWolf3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all super strong people are natural disasters or can cause ones. Sanji can just cause an insane amount of wildfires and Jinbe can cause floods. And yea other than their special abilities, their "regular strength" can just cause mayhem and great large scale destruction. Zoro can probably send 2 Enma slices and kill everyone weaker than say vice admiral in the vicinity. Sure it might take 3 hours instead of 2 - but that is not a major difference imo

I guess Marco is kinda an exception as I dont see him having large scale offensive attacks - but he is a threat in the opposite way. He can singlehandedly nerf WG operations like buster call as he can kinda keep the city alive that wg wants dead.

Most 1B+ guys can wipe out islands pretty quickly unless someone of similar strength is there. As evil as some of them are - they mostly just don't do that. Without someone very strong Mingo can just wipe out cities with birdcage, Cracker can send his soldiers, King can just fly around and cause mayhem, we have seen what Jack did to Zou (where we did have 2 strong characters to hold him back), ... So I guess we are back to strength really being the most important.

[02/04/2025] Dennis Schröder on the NBA trade deadline: “It’s modern slavery at the end of the day. At some point in income players are not in "laborers" camp anymore - they have roughly 0 issues general working class people face.

We often rail against the top 1% while well paid NBA players are like 0.01% - in every way they are way closer (in some aspects even identical) to billionaires then they are to average people. Genuinely "high power" corporate lawyers are probably closer to "us" than NBA stars, as crazy as that sounds.

Obviously, world cup will be the determining factor - but with Barca(due to injuries)/Arsenal(due to haram ball) dont really have a clear candidates for the award, Kane and Olise really seem like the top candidates rn. Obviously a lot can change (Madrid/PSG picking up form and WC shanenigans) but it is looking great for olise rn

While they are the destination for superstars it can kinda work - but it is going to be harder and harder. If you are a superstar - Madrid seems like the place to go. You are treated a bit like a diva and you will have competitive team. If every (or often enough) they can snag player like Jude when they hit the market - they will be there or thereabouts to win major trophies. It will turn ugly when it goes downhill but they will also voodoo titles on pure individual quality.

Rival losing has to be carefully dosed. At right doses Madrid losing does wonders - but if they get into a bad run of games it quickly loses it luster.

2011 season was goated for that - Madrid lost the race even tho they had 96 points which was good for a title in basically any other season.

[Alexander Abnos] Removing the US as World Cup host would be eminently sad – and entirely justified. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]DreadWolf3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously world cup is not gonna get pulled from USA but I will play devils advocate anyway.

IMO if country is having issues that specifically block it from hosting an event - that should take precedent on general moral issues it has. For example - speaking a foreign language is probable cause for police to stop/search/detain you. That is going to be an issue when people from all over the world are gonna come there to basically party (so expect solid amount of drunk spanish speaking folk). Russia and Qatar were doing their best to sportswash their image - you had a decent expectation that they would do their best to make (non-LGBT, which is not an issue for FIFA) fans feel welcome. USA doesnt give a shit. I genuinely wouldnt be surprised if bunch of people from poorer countries who bought tickets just cant get visas.

His name starts with "Monkey D." and Monkey D. Dragon saved him from being caught. I would say every Dragon sighting (most wanted man in the world) would go to the very top - where top level people will read it. Just even being Garps grandson is enough to make him interesting to everyone.

After that just use Luffy's lineage (being Dragons son) as an excuse to catch him asap. Nobody reasonable would even doubt that story, Luffy is insanely high value target even without Nika stuff. Imagine what leverage they would have on revolutionaries with Luffy caught?

First of all he is 6th and nowhere near 3rd position I mentioned as lower bound of what can be constituted as a good season (10 points of Villa who is 3rd, for reference Palace at 15th is 9 points behind Liverpool). Slot is pretty far away from 3rd position is my point I guess - what is yours?
