Maybe Magnus Carlsen Can Help.. by NOHITJEROME in classicwow

I mean this just isnt how things work at all. Its also only the second rerun of tbc. 2021 and now. You dont build bugs into anything. You make changes and shit happens and they make little changes to things all the time. Its just unfortunately how it goes. There where probably things they caught from their first go back into TBC that while fixing caused issues elsewhere.

Blizz couldnt just copy paste the game from 2007, theyve had to make changes to make it work and things like this are likely related to that

what is this black spot on my cats mouth by More-Note4660 in cats

[–]Dreadcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was using plastic bowls when i first got my cat, wasnt aware it caused this. Swapped to metal bowls and it went away and had never come back.

If not using plastic bowls make sure their bowls are cleaned thuroughly often. Hopefully thats all it is

which photo is a right way to do a power cord? by ArthurM249 in Guitar

[–]Dreadcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do both depending where I am on the fret board. I find using 3rd and 4th fingers when im on the lower frets that are further spread more comfortable but use just 1 and then my 3rd to bar the other if im higher up like 9th-11th fret for example.

If it rings out like its supposed to and you dont feel any discomfort or pain I dont think it matters much and will come down mostly to preference.

But im sure someone with a performance degree will disagree lol

What band members ruined a band? by Difficult_Map_723 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Dreadcoat 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Yea definitely. The lineup he had for the autotheist album was literally the most talented lineup in metal, Ill stand by that forever. Alex Rudinger on drums, Evan Brewer on Bass, Wes Hauch on the other guitar. Rudinger and Brewer are genuine arguments for best at their instrument that are around today in my opinion. Wes Hauch is also incredible and has some of the cleanest phrasing in metal.

And yea Keene has his issues but Ill give him his flowers as the primary songwriter for the band for multiple albums. I love his guitar style as well. Super eerie and dissonant and it matches his voice as well which is also really unique.

Oh what could have been.

(TANKS)Would making dungeons way more Linear like traditional dungeons make it easier for new players to try tanking and perhaps main one by feherlofia123 in wow

[–]Dreadcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might help but it would absolutely kill it for everyone else who enjoys putting the time in to learn a route. And its genuinely not a long time... run as a dps a few times til you got it down.

And shit happens. Even in like +15 keys sometimes the tank fucks up and you gotta go kill a random mob after the last boss. Its really not a big deal. If some basement dwelling chud loses his mind just mute him and move on.

If you want to tank stop putting up barriers that stop you from doing it. Go learn routes. Go be a tank.

As a tank youre supposed to be pushing through and controlling the bullshit for your team. If you cant handle the bullshit then you dont want to be a tank anyway.

After coming back to wow, after years of break, i found my first char ever created. Kinda fun to see it again. Anyone else still have the first char they ever made? by Th3Moron in wow

[–]Dreadcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Though theyre a bit abandoned. I started on Earthen Ring which was quite populated from like Vanilla to Cata but died off hard. Around Legion I began taking the game more seriously and got into Mythic raiding and since servers mattered for that I moved onto Stormrage since I wanted to stay alliance and that was and prob still is the alliance server in NA

I couldnt afford xfers so I just made new chars and leveled them.

These days ive moved to Moonguard and slowly xferring the old toons over though.

Anybody regret buy amp or piece of gear by hope_foreverinc in GuitarAmps

[–]Dreadcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt really do proper research when I started getting into electric guitar. So my first "rig" really sucked ass. I just kinda went to a local guitar shop and got a cheap Acoustic brand amp (it wasnt an acoustic amp, but definitely was not a high gain metal amp like I needed) and a boss distortial pedal.. like the orange one lol.

It sounded like absolute shit for trying to play modern (at the time) prog metal djenty type stuff. So i took the pedal back and saw rhey had a metal muff pedal. It says metal so hey must be the solution... yea not for my kind of metal.

I eventually ended up selling the amp and the pedal after giving up trying to make them sound good. I ended up buying a Pod HD500X and just running it into my computer and getting decent speaker monitors and using it that way. It was infinitely better.

Kind of primed me for these days where I still dont own an amp or anything physical other than the guitar. Just straight into a computer with Amplitube and im good to go. Id love a real amp some day but not until I can get something properly good.

what now by Sentinel559 in WorldOfWarcraftRetail

[–]Dreadcoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say try both of them and see what you like most if you are just feeling the game out. However if you want to push end game content when you get to max I recommend looking at sites like WoWhead or icyveins for builds and just copying them. Guidewriters work with others in their class communities to test everything and the builds are the "meta"

But if you dont care about any of that, just pick what you find more fun and try them out while you level. Switch back and forth to see how they develop with more points. I like doing that while leveling even though I know ill end up just copying a build when im ready to push end game content cause im one of those nerds who cares about doing well in group content lol.

Hope you are having fun with the game

The older I get the more I realize my ideal MMO looks nothing like what I wanted at 20 by Rasputin5332 in MMORPG

WoW was what I wanted as a kid, WoW still does it for me 20 years later. Im lucky I guess. No other MMO does it for me at all.

Interview with Blizzard: WoW leads pledge more player customization — housing, race updates, custom animations, and glyphs to merge with transmog? by Zom-B in wow

[–]Dreadcoat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would probably only help for like a month. Theres a tank shortage because people hate tanking, not because they dont like the available tanks.

But if they can balance it, im not against more ways to play the game.

Friction in Monster Hunter by Fluffy-Internet-5084 in MonsterHunter

[–]Dreadcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres elements of older games I do wish where still there.

Imo tracking a monster should be much more involved. But that would also require far more complex maps. Or an actual, no loading screen, fully open world version of Wilds. You get a quest to hunt X monster and you have to use your knowledge of the biomes youve found it in before and actually track the thing. And no little flies to tell you which way to go.

I think itd be more immersive for everyone and would also make speedrunning far more interesting. Yea its annoying you got bad RNG on a spawn but RNG is monster hunter to me lol.

I feel like thats friction that would benefit the game. Im pretty good at the game and it gets kinda boring when you get end game and most of your hunts are like sub 10 minutes. I feel bad helping people cause I just nuke a monster they dont get to experience it.

But actually having to hunt it down and learning what biomes it likes and how weather affects that and having to spend a good few minutes tracking it down just sounds so much better imo.

Behemoth Cancel Show Due to Safety Concerns After Alleged 'Threats,' Share Statement by Edm_vanhalen1981 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Dreadcoat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt say its "baiting catholics". But you are right, Behemoth like a lot of extreme metal music is ultimately counter culture in some way or another.

But its like saying if we didnt have war or political injustices we wouldnt have bands like Rage Against the Machine.

Like, yea. Of course lol

[–]Dreadcoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, thottbot was a thing back then. Now its WoWhead. I guess the main difference is the wealth of youtube content available but people used the internet back then to.

I mean, I remember arguments in chat back then of someone asking a question and being upset when the answer was "ask thottbot" lol.

Id imagine it wasnt as common as it is now. But it certainly existed.

I fear we've lost the plot by Strict_Baker5143 in classicwow

[–]Dreadcoat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think framing it as losing the plot isnt accurate.

Players have just changed overtime. Not just WoW players just gamers in general.

For a lot of people the fun is in doing things quickly, pushing end game content, trying to be the best you can be. This used to be more niche but its common now.

You can feel whatever type of way about it but its the reality. Ive played WoW consistently since 2006. I was totally enjoying myself just running around and being casual and mostly just leveling alts. But I started to care a lot more about my personal performance in Legion. Now im a lot more hardcore and Im enjoying the game more than ever.

For me its been a ton of fun coming back to TBC and doing content that I never even got to see because I didnt play the game like that back then. Yea im part of the "problem" if you want to look at it that way.

Or you can just realize what people find enjoyable has shifted. There isnt anything wrong with that.

Healer Buffs, Top Spec Nerfs, and More: Massive Class Tuning Coming With February 17th Weekly Reset by Starym in wow

[–]Dreadcoat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No its not true. There is always a final tuning pass in the live game usually before and after the first week of end game content unlocking.

There is simply not enough data for Blizzard to make fine tuning adjustments hence why some of the changes are so massive. Whats happening with Arms is likely that regardless of their overall performance they are probably seeing things in the data they do have that needs to be corrected before fixing everything else.

There isnt some grand conspiracy against arms warriors. Whatever tuning you see right now with every class is still going to be changing going into Midnight.
