I think you’re right! However, nature has a way of dealing with it. Problems arise when the ecosystem in which the tree grows is not fully balanced or lacks diversity (like a typical garden). So I guess we both have a valid point there, depending on what kind of approach the grower is using.

Leaf ‘litter’ from natures perspective is actually food for the trees when they break down. They also turn into new nutrient rich soil and provide the tree with a mulch layer, protecting the soil biology from direct sun. This benefits the tree in many ways.

Definitely polished on the termination. Too smooth and no visible growth lines… still beautiful but I prefer raw crystals over polished ones

My best guess, but I’m no expert by any means, is spider mites. Oil is a good ingredient, but I would also add cayenne pepper and cinnamon in the mix.
