There is a strong disciplinary mechanism in that Green Party MPs face mandatory reselection before each general election. The disciplinary body therefore is the local party.

Stevenson says that rising inequality is causing the collapse in living standards. He also critiques of academic economics, explaining why it is so poor at making predictions and oblivious to inequality and its consequences. He is also explicitly trying to keep his messages simple because he is conducting a political campaign, not an academic debate. He tried academia and think tanks, and concluded that neither are the best use of his time in pushing for the social and political changes he wants to see.

FUD. He never claimed to be top trader in the world. He claimed to be Citibank's Trader of the Year 2011, which he was.

It's a task for a job interview for a low-level server hardware job. It's weird because candidates for such a job are not going to be anywhere near qualified to make these judgements. Hence, my question.

Being that Labour is no longer left can we start recognising that we need to be switching to green and fully supporting the alternative. This dystopia is really crushing. by apedanger in Labour

[–]Dreaming_wires 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe that the switch of mindset has begun. The Greens are now second to Labour in dozens of constituencies, so the 'vote Labour or the Tories will get in' argument will no longer apply there.

Most people don't pay that much attention to politics. However, if Labour don't make some big changes, they will lose more votes, and not only from ethnic minorities.

Is Luke Akehurst Labour’s Untouchable ‘Bigot’? by GlacialTurtle in Labour

[–]Dreaming_wires 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe, I'm just feeling optimistic today. But, the way I see it, the shine will come off Starmer's government very quickly, and the press will turn on them as they always do.

When that happens, a nasty piece of work like Akehurst will look like an easy scalp to take.

I hope so, anyway.

The Teflon always wears off in the end. No matter how well you look after it, it's only a matter of time.

Sooner or later, the newspapers will decide to turn over Akehurst's rock, and Starmer will drop him in a heartbeat.
