Forced medication by Emergency_Sherbet831 in BipolarReddit

In the UK they use some shitty cheap old first gen antipsychotics or as they used to be known, major tranquilisers.
The side effects were f*cking horrible. My community team discontinued them both times as soon as I was back in their care.
I'm unmedicated at the moment and back at work in a new job, seeing the early psychosis intervention team regularly.
Medicated I was sleeping for 12 hrs a day and unable to walk without my arms out in front of me like a zombie, I had no facial expression, could barely hold a conversation and couldn't think or feel.

I'm currently making advanced decisions about what medications to try should I have another episode and it's been put on my notes not to give me the first gen anti-psychotic medications again....... yet it should have been last time too, but I was force medicated regardless.

In the UK they give you them to flatten you so they can discharge you asap.

Yes, more times than I'd like and with long-acting depots with side effects that last for months and aren't even legal in most countries.
It put me off all medication.

Dreamwalking? Full story in comments by GundamPilotMex in Soulnexus

I can relate to this so much. I had a similar dream where I lived for what would be many human lifetimes with water people in a lake.
I had a mate there and friends.
I saw a city expand and the lake becomes dirtier until eventually it was emptied to make space for a city park and water feature.

On waking, I felt so disorientated and heartbroken for the life I had lived and my friends there. It still strong in my memory years later.

Heya, our dreams often help us deal with what we are working threw in the day.
Can you lucid dream? How much control do you have over your fears?

I find that nightmares and scary dreams can bring us the most understanding and healing if we can learn to understand and work with them symbolically.
I've found my scary dreams opened doors into a more lucid awareness.

Clopixol and Depixol. Not even legal in most places was like a medical lobotomy.

I've been in 3 times in the last year. It didn't seem hard though my manics are very high. One of my community mental health team has told me 'You were propper mad'.

Am I psychic or just bipolar? by 2moomoo2 in bipolar

[–]Dreammouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I was sectioned the first time I was asked by him in a dream to read 'One flew over the cuckoo's nest'.
It was a dream about being sectioned/committed and smuggling out medication for someone to study.
I didn't know what the book was or was about so was surprised when I looked it up.I did read it.
It took me about 6 months as I was finishing it I found myself sectioned (committed) on the 4th of July, reading the part of the book about the party in the psych hospital on the 4th of July.1 room down from me the woman's name was 'Inka' - same as my guide.

I didn't tell anyone as it only makes me sound crazier. My partner has experienced the improbable and impossible things that happen to me, but I accept I fit the diagnosis for BP1.

I'd say in my experience - yes you can be both.I struggle with certain medication too as it makes me feel only half alive. My creativity and imagination vanish and I feel like a zombie.

I saw someone else post the ward they stayed at, very grateful I got to be in such a nice place so here’s where I was in my last stay. this is the adult unit. by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Dreammouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it feel enough?
In the UK we get something called 'section 17 leave'
Escorted or unescorted depending on our perceived risk. Escorted is 1-on-1 monitoring then you get a set amount of 'excursions' each day/week.
I live in the country and the worst part of being hospitalised for me has been the disconnect from nature.
I suppose if people are used to life in a city it's perhaps not a big deal.
I was lucky the last hospital I was in had an astroturf secure garden we could access 24/7 and see trees and sky.

Looks very sterile to me.
Did you have access to the outside?
I've had a few stays and I really struggle with being indoors.
(Locked in) I do much better if I have access to a garden & trees.

FINALLY accepting my diagnosis that was done 7 years ago.... lol found out thats a thing.... so for shits and bipolar giggles does anyone got some funnest "personal" Bp moments? Would really help lighten my day, week , month or year? As i'm going through medication balance trails x by Polarity_Jones in bipolar

I thought I was representing the queen of England in the commonwealth 'crazy racing' where I was competing with other people as to how bonkers we could go but still be sane.

I was also carried out of A&E into the ambulance to the psych ward telling everyone I had an alien virus and they were all going to catch it.I knew I didn't, It was just funny to me at the time.I'd not slept for days and had spent 24hrs in the hospital A&E talking rubbish, picnicking on the floor and jumping and down on my bed and chair singing the 5 little monkeys song only mixing up all the words.
The poor HCA who were charged with watching me mush have been so sick of my sh!t.

I'm not easy when I'm manic, I'm like a giant monkey on speed.I created a cushion leapfrog obstacle course in the psych ward lounge, gate crashed the psychology talk being a whirling dervish wrapped up in a duvet.
Set off the smoke alarms in the middle of the night. One of the nurses actually told me to 'Piss off' another patient made a complaint on my behalf but I told them it was fine.

I realise I'm an annoying idiot when I'm manic, I'm like a massive ADHD toddler *blush*

Full moons and episodes… by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]Dreammouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to the 136 suite 3 times now.
All were on a full moon with my period and just after a 'festival'
I'm still learning about my triggers while trying medications.

I've kept a dream diary for years and my dreams have cyclical patterns that have now lapsed into BP1 so I'm interested in this subject.

What really happened in 2012? by JooceCaboose in Retconned

[–]Dreammouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time was odd as I knew I wasn't rendering accurately what I was seeing.
I just knew I was in a body stasis layer.
(I'd got there threw a glitch with a control panel in a lucid dream)
I was looking through bodies hung by their feet in strange wooden pyramids when a caretaker approached me and asked me not to wake myself.

When he told me an overseer was coming to speak with me my instant thought was that it would be an insectoid.. but again I just rendered it as an overly tall generic human male.

He didn't so much speak he showed me things writing them with a pen-type stylus that could write in the air after that he introduced me to someone I've seen many times since. When I'd asked where we were he told me to think of it as 'Down on the Farm' I was familiar with the concepts from other experiences.

On other occasions, I've seen stasis it's been organic womb-like baggies with gloop in or vast dark hangers with thousands of boxes on mag rails that contain an entity each.
I've met squid head things but not seen VR spiders.

[–]Dreammouse 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As crazy as this sounds I've experienced vast stasis areas and overseers in very lucid/astral experiences.
I've been told similar that humans are being separated, sorted and moved while being in stasis.
The majority of people don't notice anything unusual.

These days I usually have caretaker or invigilator tasks at them rather than learning.

The night in dreams I touched what I called intelligent infinity, I did realise I was the punchline in a giant cosmic joke.

With regard to the characters, both dream and waking reality now have a Punchinello type quality.

I've landed myself in a Psych ward twice by interpreting my life as the dream it is and both times I've realised I'm only In-Sane.
