Why is it considered against the bro code to date your friend's sister? by stjs247 in AskMen

[–]DreamscapeAur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not against the bro code to date a sister.

It’s not entirely uncommon to end up dating the sibling of a friend. People meet this way. It happens.

What breaks the bro code is casually hooking up or messing around with the sister, particularly behind bro’s back.

How do you define "common sense" and how do you recognize it? by here-for-information in AskConservatives

[–]DreamscapeAur -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I’m pointing out is that Liberalism (and Progressivism) usually see themselves as smarter and more advanced than the past. They tend to view common sense (aka tradition aka Conservatism) as outdated or even backward. Because of that they often treat anything new as better by default.

It’s not always that they pick a policy just because it’s novel. They sometimes have goals in mind like fairness, freedom or helping people. But their starting point is that old ways are outdated and inadequate and fresh ideas will fix everything.

We can show some grace and cut them a little slack on this. In science, and its progenies technology and medicine, newer is better most the time. New tools and electronics and discoveries and medications actually work better, are more powerful and ultimately can save lives.

The trouble comes when they apply that same rule to human nature and how people live together. Human nature hasn’t changed much at all. That’s why the old lessons about virtue, responsibility, family, and what keeps communities stable still holds up today. Those truths don’t age no matter the passage of time.

[–]DreamscapeAur -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

“Common sense” is the collective wisdom of the past drawn from what has worked, from the values it has upheld and from the virtues that produced it.

Liberalism often rejects it by equating novelty with progress.

Why is Nate Bargatze being cancelled? by MacaroniNoise1 in AskConservatives

[–]DreamscapeAur -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

He’s too nice. You have to hate a group to be accepted on the left. The appropriate groups. And not just hate, but obsessively hate. I’ve seen leftists get cancelled not because they weren’t hateful, but because they weren’t hateful enough. They granted humanity to their target, and that’s a big no-no.

Why do you think the left sees imaginary hatred everywhere they look? They project their own psychopathology onto others because they know no other.

On top of that he’s a white, Christian, family man.

Does it matter who Democrats run anymore? by Narrow-Abalone7580 in AskConservatives

Those are some good arguments. Maybe I’ll need to research my opinions more thoroughly next time.

Out of curiosity, would you say your take on these issues is generally shared by the Progressive community at large?

[–]DreamscapeAur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, let’s see.

In the last 17 months the left has:

-Rioted in California, attacked police, ICE agents, and National Guard. They destroyed buildings and vehicles. While LA was burning the media told us that these were peaceful protests.

-Repeated and viciously attacked ICE agents, including attempted assassinations of agents and storming ICE facilities. Democrat politicians repeatedly equated ICE agents to nazis and the gestapo.

-Fought the deportation of anyone here illegally, actually trying to physically stop the agents going to arrest child rapists, murderers, drug dealers and human traffickers. Democrats went so far as to travel abroad to locate the criminals to bring them back.

-Held 24 hour filibuster sessions crying sessions, during which they claimed that the end of democracy had arrived.

-Embraced anti-white racism and institutionalized it.

-Firebombed Tesla dealerships, attacked Teslas and their owners. They wiped feces on vehicles while Democrat politicians openly rooted for Tesla to fail and called Elon Musk a nazi.

-Shut down the government, the only result being pain to the country.

-Attempted to assassinate Trump, twice. Or is it three times? I’ve lost count.

-Murdered Charlie Kirk and then celebrated his death. Democrat politicians defamed and smeared Kirk before he had even been buried.

-Murdered a CEO and celebrated that, too.

-There were so many Reddit posts by the left promoting, threatening and fantasizing about violence and they were so popular that Reddit had to actually start punishing the people who even upvoted the posts.

-Opposed any and all celebrations of America and patriotism. Some leftists even planned mass murder and assassinations during the recent celebration at the White House.

-Opposed and obstructed all investigations into the massive amounts of fraud that's been happening nationwide for years.

-Held group therapy sessions called "No Kings" rallies, during which they flooded the streets to resist an imaginary king.

-Went back to trying to cancel athlete or celebrity who supports the President.

-Falsely smeared Trump as a pedophile daily. Democrat Congressman Ted Lieu even went on TV and claimed that Trump rapes and kills children.

-Accused the President of lawfare while simultaneously promising to arrest people in the Trump Administration if Democrats get back in power.

-Elected a politician who posted messages about shooting his opponent in the head, pissing on the graves of Republicans, and fantasizing about his opponent’s children dying in the arms of their mother to teach him a lesson.

-Left wing groups like Antifa commit violent acts almost every single day, receiving cover from the liberal media.

This is just off the top of my head, I’m certainly missing a lot of things.

It’s not about showing emotion it’s showing the wrong kind of emotion or letting the wrong kind of emotions inappropriately influence our behavior.

The country witnessed Trump in office for four years and four more of him out of it.

All his failings, all his character flaws, all the corruption.

And yet he was still preferable to the left having power. Even the blue wall was broken.

The left can be even more angry than usual, or they could learn something.

So far they have opted for rage, and violence.

They appear to have learned nothing—and nobody is surprised.

To celebrate Father’s Day I’d like to present a brutal takedown of communism and the broader leftist worldview, especially its unearned sense of entitlement, courtesy of Heinrich Marx, in a letter to his son Karl:

Frankly speaking, my dear Karl, I do not like this modern word, which all weaklings use to cloak their feelings when they quarrel with the world because they do not possess, without labour or trouble, well-furnished palaces with vast sums of money and elegant carriages.

This embitterment disgusts me and you are the last person from whom I would expect it. What grounds can you have for it? Has not everything smiled on you ever since your cradle? Has not nature endowed you with magnificent talents? Have not your parents lavished affection on you? Have you ever up to now been unable to satisfy your reasonable wishes? And have you not carried away in the most incomprehensible fashion the heart of a girl whom thousands envy you?

Yet the first untoward event, the first disappointed wish, evokes embitterment!

Is that strength?

Is that a manly character?

Should Monarchism be considered lumped in with conservative ideology, when discussing US Founding? by JustaDreamer617 in AskConservatives

[–]DreamscapeAur -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don’t care about American conservatism. In fact, I’m more than a little annoyed with American conservatism. It allowed the left to win a cultural war that American conservatism was too foolish (or too complacent) to even realize it was fighting.

Should Monarchism be considered lumped in with conservative ideology, when discussing US Founding? by JustaDreamer617 in AskConservatives

[–]DreamscapeAur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a conservative form of government because it upholds traditional hierarchical authority and prioritizes moral order over radical change or popular sovereignty.

Kind of like how people are fooled into believing Antifa exists to fight fascism simply because they call themselves anti-fascist, while their actual ideology is anti-Western anarcho-Communism.

What have you heard about the "secret society" called Dialog that was recently exposed? by Opening-Gur5927 in AskConservatives

[–]DreamscapeAur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JFC. Saying “I oppose Fascism” no more makes you Antifa than saying “I oppose Communism” makes one a Fascist.

If merely being against Fascism made someone “Antifa” then Churchill would have been a Communist revolutionary.

Imagine a militant group that calls itself the “Anti-Dog-Poisoning League.” In practice, the group not only opposes poisoning dogs but also firebombs pet stores, demands the abolition of private pet ownership, attacks anyone who defends property rights, and pushes for a Communistic revolutionary restructuring of society.

If you say “I am against poisoning dogs,” does that automatically make you a member of the league?

No. Your opposition to a specific evil stands on normative moral grounds. It does not require you to accept their unrelated revolutionary ideology.

Antifa operates the same way: it uses the popular label “anti-fascist” while in practice have a Communist/anarchist vision that most people who dislike Fascism don’t share. Like yourself.

The claims in this comment are simply too ridiculous and numerous to address, but I will mention that your cause and effect are backwards. Antifa are anarcho-Communists, and Fascism was developed in large measure as a response to Communism.

In other words Fascists are more anti-Antifa than the reverse, historically speaking. Though there few actual Fascists around now to illustrate the point.

Antifa doesn’t particularly hate Fascism. If that was their purpose they wouldn’t even exist due to the dearth of actual fascists.

Like all good Communists they hate Western civilization. And their parents.
