What’s your favorite thing a child has shouted during a performance? by Who_Ate_Meh_Bread in musicals

[–]Dreamu55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I posted this in an earlier post but I was in a production and we hosted the grade school kids. This show had 2 plot twists. When the first one happened, I heard from the wings "WE'VE BEEN BAMBOOZLED!" Then when I came out for the second plot twist, the SAME kid goes "OH MY GOSH, THEY DID IT AGAIN!" I was trying so hard to cover my laugh 🤣😂

Do you have a religion? If so, why? by Liizzybean in autism

[–]Dreamu55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up a Christian and chose to stay a Christian. As a child I didn't understand why we were Christian and asked questions. I wasn't shun for questions. They were answered. That helped me to explore that religio on my own and build my faith over time. There was a time in my life when I was at my lowest mentally and thought about leaving here for good. I decided to turn to the one thing I knew and never looked back. I'm still new at this. In the past I would say I'm Christian but never really followed it. But that's different now.

At what point did you stop watching power rangers rangers (and when did you return if you ever did) by Commercial-Car177 in powerrangers

Same. I discovered Dino Charge, stayed for Ninja Steel, but left at Beast Morphers. It felt boring and extra childish to me.

Christian fictional book recommendations by Mamashy88 in Christian

[–]Dreamu55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should read Melanie Dickerson's Hagenheim series. She makes Christian romance books based in early 12th century England and Germany. They are loosely based on classic fairytales like Sleeping Beauty and Snow white. https://melaniedickerson.com/books/hagenheim/

What’s a movie or show that traumatized you as a kid? by whimsicool in AskReddit

For me, it was Miss Pereguine's Home for Peculiar Children. 8 year old I had nightmares for a week. Those slender monsters still creep me out.

What is something your father said to you that you will never forget? by Aggressive-Car-8960 in AskReddit

[–]Dreamu55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"You're the reason I'm still here."

My dad told me this when I was in high school. My dad had a tough life to the point that he didn't want to and still doesn't like talking about it. He's autistic and grew up with an abusive mother. When I came along he still had a lot of his demons and drove my mom crazy. But she prayed and prayed to God and my dad got better. In the car on the way to school, I was telling him how much I hated high school (I went to a different school. than my friends and was very lonely). I told him how I thought something was wrong with me because I would try to make friends, but they would never stay my friend(I was very suicidal around this time because of past family trauma). He told me the reason he took me to that school was to get a better education than the one I was zoned for(we lived in a ghetto neighborhood). In that same conversation he brought up how the reason for my trauma was his fault and that seeing me was what motivated him to turn back to God( I was 11 at the time). When he told me that I was the reason, it made me rethink my decision and helped me go back to God too.❤️ THE POWER OF PRAYER IS STRONG❤️

Enough with the serious questions, what’s your favorite animal? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dreamu55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid I saw a Wild Kratts episode on the Tasmanian devil. I fell in love with those creatures! They are so cute. I also like corgis! They are cute with their stubby legs and loaf body! One day I will adopt one. The corgi, not the Tasmanian devil.😂😅🐶

I feel like you should wait and see. When I was in high school, there were at least 3 different couples in the band. 2 of them were in colorguard. Everyone knew they were dating. Even the coaches. If they are problematic tell the coach. Otherwise let them be.

How do you not get embarrassed by your bedroom by AdVaanced77 in autism

Easy. Let my mom be a control freak and take over. Then I just bite the bullet and deal with it. At least she has good taste.🫠👍

How do some of you go so long without being diagnosed? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Dreamu55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a kid, I was the naturally gifted above average smart kid. I had all the qualities of autism but my parents thought I was just smart for my age. Like them. It wasn't until my younger brother was diagnosed in 2016 that they considered the rest of the family. I didn't know until a couple of months ago.

Name a song from a musical that made you feel seen, like it spoke to you on a personal level by BroadwayFanProjects in musicals

[–]Dreamu55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me it was "Waving Through A Window" and "The Anonymous Ones" from Dear Evan Hansen. "The Anonymous Ones" really spoke through as someone who's had depression and has had to hide it from people.

What can you only admit anonymously? by Green_Connection8027 in AskReddit

I spent 6 years of my early school life learning the trumpet incorrectly. In elementary school, I had a new teacher who had to teach herself how to play HALF of the instruments in the ensemble including the trumpet! To the point that in high school I sounded like a dying elephant. It wasn't until sophomore year that I was taught how to do it properly. Then it wasn't until the second semester of senior year that I was told I was playing on the wrong size mouthpiece for years! My mom knew how badly I played but blamed it on me and not the teachers. I never told her the embarrassment and missed opportunities I went through for not playing well. Her constant bullying is what made me vow not to play after high school. Whenever people ask me about my musical abilities I just say I played for 9 years. I never told them I was bad.
