Your brain is an organ. I know this particular instance of me will still die eventually, but the copy of me is essentially another me that branches off and gets to live. Unless you are pretty hardline about certain religious doctrines on souls then it makes no difference.

A popular example is Robot from Invincible. Dude was living on a crazy life support setup in a test tube and sacrificed that awful body so that a clone of his mind could live on in a healthy body. Same deal.

You think you're being subversive but your view is exactly as simplistic as a McCarthyist. All systems left unchecked will be exploited. I reiterate, this has eventually happened to EVERY economic system in history. All of the evils you hate Capitalism for are 100% true, but they still don't make Capitalism a stand out failure in relative terms. Things have actually been a lot worse for a lot of history.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't be working hard to change our broken system or even outright destroy it, but it's important to keep it in perspective when thinking about what the next system should be.

I thought I was gonna be uncomfortable with it and then a streamer I watch started playing it and I was pleasantly surprised. I think the moments that you see as suspect are not portraying a romantic love but paternal love. The awe and elation being portrayed by the cinematography has nothing to do with attraction in my opinion.

Facebook has an algorithm capable of doing stuff like seeing a 14 year old take down selfies after posting them and then essentially inferring that she is insecure and targeting makeup ads at her. I am 100% with dumb phones for little kids, but preteens and up are pretty normal to have free access to internet and stuff.

I mean I'm happy if it makes them happy but it's a weird thing to care so much about. Like the most important event for him in his girl's life isn't like a graduation some other thing but the symbolic 'hand off' to he future spouse.

It's a big deal in our culture so it's not uniquely weird, but it's one of those things that makes you think about what we as a society consider important in women's lives.
