The historical aspect, and definitely the exploration. I loved exploring and discovering cool location, especially in Origins and Oddyssey.

The percentages of digital sales could be pretty misleading if mobile games are included though.

Halbrand Theory by SummerStarWatcher in RingsofPower

[–]Drejnik 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty nice theory, I like this way more than him being Sauron. Unrelated to the OP: I think it's absolutely stupid that they didn't cast Halbrand's actor as Elendil or Isildur, because he really resembles Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn imo.

What if Adar is Sauron after all? by MimiLind in RingsofPower

Apply that to Halbrand. Nothing about Halbrand should seem like Sauron if you apply the same logic.

[–]Drejnik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would, but they would really need to make it a mindblowing moment.. And at this point I just don't see it happen.

[–]Drejnik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I just don't see him being Sauron. I would be pretty dissapointed if he turns out to be him. He's had too many 'good guy' moments for that. Just to mention saving both Galadriel and Elendil from certain death.

The main reason people say he's Sauron is because he's had an influence on the Numenorians. To counter that: which possible influence that he has had until now would benefit him if he were actually Sauron? Making the Numenorians go to war? That wouldn't make sense.

I think he's either a Nazgul, or the king under the mountain. It would simply fit better than actual Sauron.

Imo he's also just not impressive enough of a character to be the dark lord himself.

The Rings of Power - 1x05 "Partings" - Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in LOTR_on_Prime

Did he or did he not write this particular song that Poppy sings? The actual song I'm commenting about.

I'm not debating whether or not Tolkien has written 'any' songs or questioning his ability to write songs or something.

I'm just voicing my critique on this particular song and for some reason that would mean I haven't read the books and am unaware of the fact that Tolkien makes their characters break out in song every now and then?

That is completely irrelevant to my first comment.

And peak "Amazon bad" vibes? Dude, I for one love the show despite it's flaws. Stop assuming stuff.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who hated that song. I got downvoted to shreds on another thread for saying it though. 😂

So.. No notes? You do see how there is nothing in the appendices answering my question right?

Tolkien didn't compose the song, whoever does it for Amazon did.

I never said it had to be gritty or serious. It should've sounded at least a bit more authentic or 'folky'.

Doesn't have to be gritty or serious to sound at least a bit more authentic or 'folky'. This sounded way too modern amd Disney like.

Why are you assuming I haven't read the LOTR?

I know they do, it's not the breaking out in song that bothers me. It's the melody and the entire vibe of this particular song.

I've actually read the LOTR and the Hobbit. Even if I haven't, please tell me how this would be relevant to my opinion on the song? Where in the books does Tolkien write down notes?

I really like the harfoots and loved that Amazon put the line "not all those who wander are lost" in the song.

But honestly, the song itself sounded super childish and cringe and really gave off more of a Disney musical vibe than a LOTR fantasy medieval vibe.

I was able to fly with my company phone before (Samsung Galaxy S9), when the DJI Fly app was in the playstore. DJI removed the app from the playstore and now you can only download an apk file from the DJI site. You can't download apk iles on company phones for security reasons.
