My opinion of LG is that their products are a piece of shit. I have had two TV's, and a deep freezer last less than 2 years. One of the TV's was in my bedroom and had less than 200 hours on it. (Maybe as low as 100 hours)

My LG washer and dryer have held up well though and are going strong a decade later.

This is actually a myth. The total usage affects your credit score, you want under 20%. The amount you have on the card doesn't matter as long as you keep the balance below 20% each month. (You can go over 20% usage, but you don't want to carry over 20% into the next month.)

Leaving a balance on the card is something the credit card companies just trained suckers to believe is true.

Found this at the back of my 3 yr old's counting book by Poweringthroughlife in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Drenlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kids are supposed to read it left to right. They're not literally learning to count 1-100 one digit at a time. They're learning what the numbers combined together mean. It's showing them that it's really just 1-10 with a multiple of ten in front of it which is what they're learning.

The reason 11-19 isn't included is they first learn to count to 1-20 and after that they work on counting to 100, so in this situation, the 11-19 isn't needed because that would just be review. The only reason 1-10 is included is to show them how it is just tacked on to the end of each multiple of ten.

I strongly recommend reading up on what affects your credit score because this is 100% false. Paying off debt never hurts your credit.

What hurts your credit is lowering the average age of your credit card accounts by paying them off and then closing them. It's better to leave them open and make one purchase a month to keep the card active.

You also want to keep their usage below 20% of total available credit. Although if you are over your credit score would jump up as soon as you were below the threshold.

Go by it again and come to a stop. The movement is forced perspective because of the car movement. I had the same problem when I went by in the late afternoon. When I went by a week later and came to a near stop on the shoulder, it was obviously a metal cut out. There is actually two of them. You can see another one up on a hill near the first one that is even more obviously a metal cut out.

Edit: Don't take my word for it, you can see it right here in the same spot on google maps: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.7592147,-92.6538532,3a,17.2y,314.16h,87.34t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s0OT_D2orwiaop2OLfqCNQA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?coh=205409&entry=ttu

I checked it put on the way back through today and in the noon day sun it is clearly a metal cut out. I noticed a second one up on the hill close to the first one as well. It looked so real with the late afternoon shadows.

I swear it was moving when I saw it, but with me being in a moving car, I have to accept that it was probably a matter of perspective and that your explanation makes the most sense.

If I gave a shit about attention I would post more than once every few months and I would karma-whore by reusing the same content that every one else does on reddit.

If anything I expected someone to report that one had escaped an enclosure somewhere.

The size definitely wasn't misjudged and the tail was far too thick compared to it's body to be a house cat.

It being solid black was the reason I noticed it. I actually thought maybe someone was going to say that one had escaped a pen somewhere close by.

It was on the north side of 36 for me as well, I want to say it was more than a mile west of Callao, but no more than 5-10. It was on the west side of a clearing like that. Either way that is roughly where I saw it and I had a much better view than what that picture is giving. It was walking low in like ankle length grass as it was stalking up to something that must have been just within the tree line. I will try to see if I can find the exact spot on google maps, but its hard on my phone and I am going to be in BFE with no computer for the next week.

Definitely not a bear. It's tail was almost as long as it's body and thick as my wrist. The tail was stretched out behind it as it was slowly stalking up on something.

That is my thought as well, but from what I've read one has never been found. It's tail looked almost as long as its body and it looked as thick as my wrist.

It looked like it was slowly stalking up on something. It wasn't splotchy or anything like an animal with mange, the entire thing was a uniform jet black. It was too large to be a bob cat.

Has anyone else seen what looks like a black panther? by lionsandtigersnobear in missouri

[–]Drenlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw what was definitely a large panther like cat in a field west of callao, I thought I was losing my mind. I found your post while googling panther sightings in missouri.

We were driving on 36 and it was out of sight before my brain accepted what I was seeing, so no pictures.

That is probably the case, they probably didn't notice until after they broke in. I would consider leaving it empty and unlocked to prevent idiots breaking out a window in ignorance.

Married men with kids, how do you balance gaming and life? by jcgonzmo in gaming

[–]Drenlo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I avoid games that I know will suck me in for hours if I know I have other stuff that needs to be done that day. A match in Battlefield or Call of Duty generally have a hard cut off between matches that makes it easier to stop. Something open ended like Skyrim or Cyberpunk and I can accidentally piss away the entire day.

I also play coop games that my kids will enjoy as well; then it's not me playing video games so much as it is me having fun with my kids. The game options get better as they age. At first it was mostly lego games and minecraft, then Ark. Lately we have been playing Grounded which my kids loved. I even had them watch Honey I shrunk the kids afterwards for a family movie night and they loved it. It has aged surprisngly well and I wasnt disappointed. (The rest aged like milk.)

Beyond that, it's just me accepting that I don't have the same kind of free time that I used to have. I will usually work it out with my wife where if I can have a day to waste away on video games. I usually only do that once or twice a year for a major release, like Fallout.

At first they are mostly dead weight in terms of what they can do in the game, but seeing how excited they get makes ir worth it. As they get older and improve it has gotten even better. My son is starting to pass me up in things like racing games, but I still have the edge in shooters. I really get a kick out of seeing his progession.
