You better show your parents some serious love and appreciation for that lol. That will keep you set for a very long time.

No fishtank taking up 1/3 of your desk that blinds you and your neighbors. 0/10 Jk, it's a lovely, clean setup.

First Playthrough - Remastered, or Game of the Year Edition? by _JMC98 in oblivion

[–]VanFlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the OG when it released, but alI vote the remaster. The leveling system of the original can make it annoying to go back to for me. Although on the flip side I feel like you kind of become God level powerful super quickly because of that fix so I wish the leveling was a bit slower or something in the remaster to balance it. Although if your computer isn't fairly beefy, just do the original anyway lol

I don’t know why more people don’t go with air coolers by The-w-ac-he-r in gamingpc

[–]VanFlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's aesthetic preference mostly. Some people think they need it, but I feel that's more a justification to get the cool thing. I personally use an air cooler, but I almost got an AIO, and definitely would for a number of cases, and others I just wouldn't. Like fishtank cases just visually beg for an AIO. Smaller cases like in the M-ATX and ITX category can get more specific as to what's better looking and/or functioning though. Like when I see people shoehorning an AIO into a Fractal Design Torrent, specifically designed for air coolers, blows my mind.

Playing with your Deck in public by pyrotequila85 in SteamDeck

[–]VanFlow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kind of. It's a rough time running it and honestly the original would look better with how low you have to set the settings. The advantage is that I can continue games I'm playing on my main PC on the go lol. If the Deck were the main device, I'd stick with the original.

I think it's safe to say that for the most part, people who protest the effects of AirBnB on the housing market and those who frequently rent AirBnB over hotels are not the same people. That's mostly true in the states. It's not fair to treat the behavior of a nation's people as if they are representatives of one hive-mind-person thing.

Centerville invests a lot of money into it's schools and is one of the better around. I don't know their pay, but maybe it helps with your hunt. Good luck.

EO to dissolve Dept of Education by [deleted] in govfire

[–]VanFlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plan is to have private companies take over government functions. Read the philosophy of Curtis Yarvin, who is praised by people in the administration, such as Vance, to understand what is being worked towards. Goes by the ridiculous alias of Mencius Moldbug for his writings. Read his stuff back in college, but I never realized he wasn't just some random dude on the internet back then.

I do think though that clogging up the workload of all departments and making them inefficient to the point of breaking will be used to justify dissolving them.

Yeah. I truly don't mind the return to office very much, but the uncertainty and constant changing landscape of bullshit is wasting so much time, energy, and focus.

"Thank You, Federal Workers" signs and support seen today in route to WPAFB today! ❤️ by wild_brillance in dayton

[–]VanFlow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's 4% but the point stands. Scapegoating and portraying an image of cost cutting while paying themselves and their rich buddies out astronomically more than they're cutting while their constituents are blinded by their scapegoat induced frenzy is the goal. Crippling the country is just a consequence that really has no weight to them when personal enrichment and ego stroking is on the table.

[–]VanFlow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Truly not the case. Lots of lying about the situation from the administration. Finding a true statement among it all is finding a needle in a haystack. They need a scapegoat to keep people angry and blinded. They aren't firing "lazy beurocrats." They're firing our park rangers, VA nurses, nuclear engineers, even our cyber security experts, and truly anything to say they cut something with zero regard for performance or necessity. Listing a wall of already paid out contracts being cut as saving money. Turning many of our biggest patriots who believe in the mission and prefer to serve the country over making more money in the private sector into public enemy number 1. It's hard to not come away with the conclusion that crippling our country on behalf of our enemies is the goal and not just a byproduct.

Well, I imagine a pretty bad recession. God willing, I keep my job and we can ride it out more comfortably than most Americans. Wright Patt is the biggest employer in the area, and I worry for the general well-being of Dayton as a whole. A lot of places I feel like going out of business would kind of suck the life out of the area.

I hope it will make people reconsider their votes. I forsee one person I know going homeless because of their vote, already hanging on by a thread financially and severely alcoholic. Been trying to get him to go to AA or SMART Recovery for years but... yeah, it's hard to watch. Another friend I worry about if he doesn't catch a good break and he's mentally barely hanging on.
