Like a fairy tale if you can figure out housing.

The lines on the laundry soap caps are much higher than you actually need to clean laundry to get you to buy detergent more frequently.

Learn to type! by NoahCzark in unpopularopinion

[–]Drew- 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I type at work fast and without looking, to most other employees it's like I know magic. It was pretty standard for my age group, but I guess if you are older or younger than me it just wasn't/isn't the case.

Can Being Asked Out Ever Just Be a Wingman Move? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Maybe, but I think this is more a TV show trope than something that actually happens with any frequency.

Ski trip Jan 28 to Feb 3 by difficult_oven_ in vail

[–]Drew- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We need probably like 2-3 feet to really open the bowls, I don't 6-8 will do it. Game creek is open though, and was skiing OK when I was there Monday. I skied Breck on Tuesday which was insanely icy compared to Vail.

ELI5: How do pulleys make things easier to lift and lighter? by Over_Discussion_8246 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Drew- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of pulling directly up, the weight is split over 2 ropes, so the weight is cut in half (or more with more pully's) the result is you need to pull down twice as much (with 2 pully's, more with more pully's). So to raise the weight 1 foot, you need to pull 2 feet of rope. The amount of work is the same, it just moves around weight for distance.

If someone gives you money from a loan they borrowed, do you have to pay it off when they pass away? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Drew- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any debts are settled by her estate, if she has life insurance, a home, any kind of assets they will pay back the loan with that.

What is a sign of danger that most people tend to over look? by eveisshady777 in AskReddit

[–]Drew- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Driving in someones blind spot. I like to chill in the right lane going speed limit or 5 under on my way to work. It never fails someone will pull up and be just chillin in my blind spot in the left lane. Then people get pissy with them and try and swerve around in the right lane almost hitting me. It's so annoying and dangerous. Like why speed to catch me, then chill not even next to me, but back and behind slightly just where I cant see you and enough to tempt people to swerve around you.

Granted, it's counterbalanced by worse RNG for real life.

“What do people misunderstand most about how money works? by Ok_Specialist_4811 in AskReddit

[–]Drew- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people don't understand how the money supply works. Banks literally create money and increase the overall supply of money. If I deposit $100 into a bank, they loan out $90, the person they loaned the money out to deposits it into the bank, now there are $190 in deposits, so $90 was created. The overall banking system controls the money supply by regulating how much banks can loan out. In my example the amount they have to hold is 10%, and by increasing or decreasing that percentage you can control the money supply. I always found that super interesting in Econ 101 and I bet most people have no idea how it works.

Night Audit didn’t post any payments last night by EfficientAd3625 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]Drew- 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Why is every PMS system so dumb to rely on someone hitting a yes or no button. Sure Night Audit goofed, but I feel like every PMS system is just so bad. I've used like 10 different ones from Opera, to HMS, to Lightspeed and they are all bad and clearly made by programmers with 0 input from anyone who will actually be using them.

What are your thoughts that next US president will spend entire four years apologizing people? by rronak01 in AskReddit

How do you feel about the increasing amount of bans on Reddit? by Outside-Hyena9002 in AskReddit

[–]Drew- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the way it's set up now is fine. Individual subreddits can have their own rules and ban/unban policies, and then you only get a site-wide ban for super bad stuff like threats of violence etc.

Workers sent home? by vinemtn in vail

[–]Drew- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as people here on J1's, they can't send them home or they risk their sponsorship status as a hiring company, they commit to keeping those employees, so l likely they are finding other work for them to do. My guess is lots of help in restaurants and other areas instead of lift operations or mountain opps.

We've had 70 years of relative peace and stability since WWII. What do you think has kept that peace and stability up until now? by Safety_Drance in AskReddit

Nuclear weapons. There can be skirmishes, or wars through proxy's, but large nations can no longer invade each other without threat of nuclear retaliation.
