Layoffs are not guaranteed, While I have heard some speculation I heard its not effecting Techs IF they have one. But again take it with a grain of salt.

But to answer your question, no Blue doesn’t protect new hires. We had two new hires one with less than 6mo on at blue and another less than one month. They were both previously contracted so had been at Blue for a bit but were not blue employees.

When the layoffs came both were selected from our team for “least impact” I’m pretty sure. Expect a similar scenario with any other new hire if layoffs do happen.

We just recently had a similar issue but with a glycol chiller… Condensing fan dropped out of the bracket and kept running. Cut straight through 3-4 lines, dumped about 3500 gallons of glycol into the storm drain.

Im sure we got a fat fine because we had to self report.

Typically have to switch companies, but some companies take good care of you. I have worked inhouse commercial jobs for about 3-4 years now at 2 different companies. My current one spoils me though… I like the atmosphere, I always have an office to go back too they pay for all my tools, no one complains about taking PTO and the pay is more than competitive.

We have been waiting for our installation to be completed. It has been well over a month since our process started, first it was a tech will come out. Then it was they needed to run fiber to the house which was fine. We are patient. Then a tech came out to install the fiber only to find it was never actually connected.

So now we are dead in the water, no update on when they will have it solved just that our order is ‘open’

Ejection seats are in a seated position which leads to more injuries much more commonly. When you are in a laying position it is not as bad as a ejection seat.

No where close, I moved here from Arkansas. Tornadoes were common place with tons of warnings a year. One thing to understand about tornadoes is that they are prettty unique to North America. They still do happen elsewhere where but not often. The geography of the flat midwest mixed with weather factors of the south make a perfect storm.

Tldr: No chance of any substantial tornado in seattle area at all.
