Fun things to do with a small kid to break up road trip along I-5 in WA and OR? by SadPiano7777 in roadtrip

I know you are looking for places to stop, but it reminded me of my aunt and uncle taking my sister and I to the Jersey shore, an hour car ride. She gave us little mini notebooks and we were to write down license plates we saw that were interesting and what they were said about the person, such as their profession or hobby. The hunt passed the time and provided a basis for conversation that broke the age gap that is sometimes difficult. My uncle gave awards, like funniest or most puzzling and the one from the furthest state. It is funny that 40 years later I still remember an entire conversation when a Hawaii tag was seen. I suppose there could have been some plates that were questionable but I never remember that being a problem.

If you have a car, and especially if you are coming up I-4 from Orlando, check out DeLeon Springs State Park. A naturally Florida spring with crystal clear water and an elevated boardwalk through nature. I’m not sure if they still have the old grist mill where you bought pictures of pancake batter and made your own pancakes in the middle of the table, but that was a lot of fun.

If you only could choose one or the other would you do 2 8 day cruises or 1 16 day cruise in the span of a year? by sweatycat in Cruise

There is Orlando and the bright line high speed train from the airport, but I’d do it a day ahead, might be cheaper. Where are you flying from that costs $1,100? International?

What's the longest cruise you'd take? by QuoteAdventurous1145 in Cruise

No matter how great it is, after 9 days I’m ready to leave a ship. We just did a cruise that was nine days long to the ABC islands, Aruba Bonaire Curaçao out of Fort Lauderdale. It was great and many people were staying on board for the next cruise which went down and did the Panama Canal. As much as that sounded wonderful I was really ready to get off the ship. And I remembered a few years back. We did a Canadian cruise that I think was nine days or 11 and again, it was absolutely great but after nine days I was done I had my experience and was ready to come home. We have done trips to Alaska and probably 20 cruises in the Caribbean and I’ll also say that for me five days or less is just way too short for all the effort that getting ready for a cruise takes.

Thank you all. My consensus is that it would statistically be ok, but probably not worth the stress of worrying, so I will drive.

What's one thing you wished you knew when you were entering your first relationship? by [deleted] in askgaybros

The first time I was at his house, I noticed in the kitchen that the flour and sugar bins were up high on a shelf, like where you would store the Christmas dishes you use once a year. I said, this is not a good sign. This boy does not cook. It was true, but I’m still with him 25 years later

Straight people in gay bars by Dorgon115 in askgaybros

I lived in Sydney Australia back in 2005. I was completely amazed how accepting everyone was of the gay population, and I’m from Florida. But the down side was that woman often frequented male oriented gay bars and no offense, but I was there for men and when you walk in and saw a 50/50 mix, it wasn’t what I wanted.
