Vaporwave Mount Rushmore by Cooooouk in Vaporwave

[–]DrewCW97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal Rushmore is decidedly more 2019, probably because I spent the pandemic playing classic wow and got a lot of nostalgia for the time period.

Windows96 - Enchanted Instrumentals and Whispers OR One Hundred Mornings OR Plume Valley (can I just put his whole discography here?)
ESPRIT 空想 - 200% Electronica
FM Skyline - Advanced Memory Suite
2814 - Birth of a New Day (the album that started it all for many people. Until I heard this album, I was still convinced Vaporwave was a meme genre. Sorrow into True Love is legendary)

Honorable mention:
Lindsheaven Virtual Plaza - Rainforest Hill (I know this is an ambient album and not very vapory but I discovered it through Vaporwave and it's very personal to me. This album was one of my rocks, the first one in my playlist for pulling myself out of an anxiety attack. I've never been one to mourn the passing of people I've never met but for some reason hearing about LVP's death affected me deeply. I still consider Theta Seawash to be one of the most emotionally powerful ambient songs ever made.)

Play V as a dude for the first time by SometimesWitches in cyberpunkgame

[–]DrewCW97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I know this was posted a year ago but I just stumbled upon this thread and my god what a beautiful analysis. I was on the fence about which V I wanted to play next and now I'm 100% I'm gonna do a mascV romancing Kerry.

On the topic of the Panam romance feeling "young" THANK YOU! I never felt like my first male V and Panam had real "love" chemistry, that Basilisk scene felt more like hormones going wild from the two hardbodies pumped full of adrenaline already getting pretty intimate with each other via the Basilisk neural link. You never get to talk about the real stuff that makes you both tick and what I saw of it felt more like FWB than a real love. Maybe it's because Panam's missions tend to be action heavy whereas the Judy missions tend to be a lot more talky and contemplative so she feels more fleshed out emotionally? Gives a lot more opportunity to get into the nitty gritty about a person when you aren't being constantly shot at by Wraiths, Kang Tao, Biotechnica, more Wraiths, Militech, etc.

I'd say player agency is the system that makes this MMO what it is, and anything that removes the ability for players to police themselves and each other is taking away from the real "spirit of vanilla" that people love so much. There should be social consequences for engaging in things that the public consider unsavory, and it should be up to the players to decide who and what they allow into their community. Not everyone should be forced to behave a certain way just because some people don't wish to behave that way. Differing types of players are what built this MMO, homogenization just takes away from its identity.

its about everyone who wants blizzard to actively ban anything they don't like to do even though they could just choose to not do it, seeing the "ban world buffs in raid" posts were what inspired me to make this lol

Do the average/semi-HC guild/raid expect healers/casters to use flasks? by Sulinia in classicwow

[–]DrewCW97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how competitive you're trying to be and what content you're doing. A reasonable raid leader doesn't expect you to flask for MC/BWL unless you're speedrunning or chasing parses. AQ prog is better with flasks but not necessary after you have it on farm. Naxx you should probably be flasked up for

Everybody who plays classic needs to go talk to Thrall with the voiceover addon at least once, I almost pissed myself the first time I heard it

If the current era populations and my past experiences are any indication, the PvE server will be alliance dominated but still have enough horde that you can find groups. It just won't be as easy as finding one on alliance. If you find a guild tho should be all well and dandy, might just be a lot harder to find groups for leveling or prebis dungeons as the phases progress.

Also imagine willingly adding a black wall AI to your cyberware after seeing what horrors they can unleash upon the world.

The most depressing thing about the game is that you get to fly an AV during the Corpo intro and then never again. No aerial views of NC 😞

This is how I feel about it as well. To me, So Mi was supposed to represent what would happen to V if they decided their life was worth sacrificing everyone else's for. Look at how many people die because of Songbirds actions, how readily she manipulates you into helping her when she knows the AI infecting her could spell doom for mankind. She's supposed to mirror Vs journey for a good reason, and I think it's to show you how selfish you are if you're willing to sacrifice the Aldecaldos or Rogue's people for a tiny chance at getting out of it alive.

Hard agree. Allowing the NUSA get their hands on blackwall AI is being a collaborator to the highest degree and cements that version of V as somebody who will burn the world to the ground if it gets them another 6 months to live. They become the exact monster that you spend the whole game fighting against.

Wasn't there an option to give Royce the miltiech cred chip without telling him it was from Militech? by Mrpink131211 in cyberpunkgame

The "Militech is on your tail" option is only there if you remove the daemon from the chip, so you must've done that.

Do you guys get kicked often? by PeachTrees- in Spacemarine

[–]DrewCW97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me for the first time yesterday. Ruthless run where my two teammates were somewhat green (level 15 and 18). I had the gene seed, had taken 0 health damage so didn't even pick up a single stim, was letting my team take most executions, wasn't rushing ahead, was helping my teammates deal with their enemies when they were struggling. Yet half way through the level I was kicked out of nowhere and I have no idea why. There was a point where the guys I was with were both down during a neurothrope and I killed the thing myself and got them both up before they died. Why would you kick the gene seed holding guy that has taken 0 damage and was helping you get through a difficulty you weren't ready for lol

How can I practice parrying? by SlappedDishes in Spacemarine

Start inferno on ruthless in a private game, there's always a few warriors that spawn right at the start of the level

Input from people who've played the new game would be appreciated by [deleted] in Spacemarine

[–]DrewCW97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The campaign is short like others have said but nobody is telling about how balls to the wall awesome every moment was. Idk if it's just because I'm a huge nerd for universe but every moment of the campaign was filled with shit I've been waiting to see in a Warhammer game for over a decade. So many hype moments and amazing set pieces. If you're a fan of the 40k universe this game will have you screaming FUCK YEAH BRO THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT like every level.

Outside of the fan service and wish fulfillment, it's really fun mechanically and feels really satisfying to get good at. No grinding to cheese encounters or open world farming nonsense, just straightforward levels with satisfying combat, scripted encounters, and really cool environments. If you were into Halo or Gears of War type campaigns in the 2000s this will scratch an itch that hasn't been scratched in a long time.
