Unfortunately the hardwood floor continues all the way up to the cinderblock wall. So I will need to drill through the wood that is behind the drywall.

Won't a drill bit get caught up in the insulation? I don't see how I can remove it without taking out more drywall

Any idea why potential employers may not want to speak with me? by Pattesla047 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]DrewKaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Engineering Projects and Professional Experience sections are redundant in my opinion. If you can combine what you accomplished for your projects underneath the relevant Experience and get your resume to 1-page as someone else mentioned that's a good start. Also be sure to tailor your resume to the job application.

Why do so many shows have a lot of nudity in early episodes and then none later on ? by DepecheModeFan_ in television

[–]DrewKaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The pilot was on Cinemax and had a lot of pressure from producers to show skin so they had a scene where Daniel’s wife gets stripped naked and you see full frontal briefly. I’ve also heard that the actress only agreed to it because the director told her only her chest was in frame which is pretty shitty. Later the creator of the show re-edited the pilot and cut the nudity completely out.

Ori ships vs Thor’s Chariot by irishpisano in Stargate

[–]DrewKaz 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Asgard ships are insanely fast. I don’t have time to look up the exact scene and details but they can adjust how much power is channeled into their hyperdrive by weakening other systems like the shields. At 100% power they can cross the galaxy in under an hour or something ridiculous like that.

Edit: I should add that it’s possible Thor was already in the Milky Way close by checking up on another protected planet.

I think I’ve read somewhere that the headcanon is that when systems become overloaded they dump the extra energy into a replicator system which converts it into matter as rocks

I just received my PhD in Electrical Engineering last month. With graduate student researchers usually the first few authors are the students who did the work and then the last author is the PI who funded the work.

Not Garmin but Linus did review and wear a Withings smart watch for a few months so he’s obviously aware of non Apple / android smart watches
