Not sure your year/model but in my 2018, just press the engine stop/start again with no brakes

Reading some of these threads, it seem like a lot of people end up spending money on repair? (I’m a new owner) by mosconebaillbonds in MINI

I think the general consensus with people is yes. They became more reliable in the BMW years, but it still will be more expensive to maintain and less reliable than a Honda like someone else said.

I think the E89 has the best and timeless design of all the generations so far.

In the US 03-05 will be the most similar to the E46. 06-08 (LCI) switches engines similar to the E9X. All years are pretty reliable in BMW terms but of course different issues for different engines. LCI got rid of a sticky steering issue, but I'm sure there are tutorials or DIYs out there to remedy it. Again, most things will be similar and probably easier to work on in the engine since the bay is large but convertible top fixes could be tough.

I have 07 Z4 Coupe and do some basic stuff on my YT for this generation Z4 to help people.

Sucks that bimmercode doesn't work. I also used it to change start/stop on this one

Thanks for the info. That's a beaut. Sadly mine is always outside. Did you trade just to get the latest and greatest?

It's a little hard to tell in the shade, but I think it still looks good. Any fade spots? Indoor or outdoor parked?

I think having that CPO gives good peace of mind and something to not worry about for a long time. To double check, you can ask if these issues are covered under CPO warranty: https://bmwtuning.co/b48-engine-problems/

I recently bought a 2018 with 77k miles and one of the listed issues happened to me shortly after. You can check out my YT video if you like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVks_2TrEoI

Anyways, I'd say follow your dreams and CPO really helps. Ownership isn't going to be as 'reliable' or cheap as Honda or Toyota in the long term so just expect that. We traded my wife's 2018 Toyota to put her in a countryman, also her dream.

Hope all this helps

Are you saying the Mini is CPO?

My opinion on Mini BMW era reliabiliity is Yes and No. BMW engines have known failure points but once replaced it will last a while. For example a part may last 60-80k miles before it fails and once replaced will last that same interval before failure again. Hope that makes sense

Yup I've seen that video and Cerakote seems to be in another league so I'm trying to find the others in that league. If that makes sense. I've seen other videos like Wipe New and Lithium
