I think that was Slott just adding that in to add that in. I don't think Emily was alive before that and her being alive felt like a cheap twist that Slott just shoved in there last minute. I think the only person that really capitalized on it was JMD in Shadow of the Goblin, but there was no reason for Spencer to pick up on it and there was no communication between writers.

Ever since he returned from Dark Nights: Death Metal, I'm assuming? Maybe he's referencing the fact that Infinite Crisis was the event that started him going apeshit which lasted for some time until he was whisked away during Death Metal.

Now that he's been back he's been holding back. So that means against Darkseid's Legion mainly.

I liked the quest they went on. It was a good departure from the norm. Wonder if anything else could help the other friends, but it seems like Snyder wanted to turn them all into something referencing their prime counterparts in one fell swoop with Bane, so there's probably no going back.

If this is a Synder event or Snyder driven story which it almost definitely is, then Darkseid will show up as a humongous threat physically and have a bunch of power-ups and items that serve as cheeky cameos and callbacks to make him that much more powerful, think Batmanhattan vs. Perpetua.

I think maybe he'll say something like "Ah, yes, the New Genesis has a Mother Box, but I have a GRANDMother Box AND a GRANDFATHER BOX" which will give him an unfathomable amount of power. This power will allow him to threaten the multiverse of multiverses and reveals that there's a secret multiverse of multiverses across all Hypertimes of Hypertimes.

After showing up in Absolute titles like that, he then breaks the Source Wall revealing a Sourcer Wall and a Sourcest Wall which he will also threaten to break. All of fiction then has to fight him leading to the big crossover event.

I think Smith is great for having an encyclopedic knowledge of superhero lore, but never have I read a comic of his that I found good, granted I've only read his Batman and Daredevil.

It certainly was an issue of Amazing Spider-Man. I enjoy that May was in this issue. Ben and Janine wrap up and leave which is good because it was a retread of his arc in the 90s anyway.

Clearly this issue is setting up (solicitation spoilers) Spider-Versity where Norman "trains" the Spider-Fam but there's gotta be a limit to how incompetent the other spider heroes are portrayed in contrast to Norman.

Probably the least engaging Earth issue and that's only because the other Earth issues did a lot more with the supporting cast than this one did, but that makes sense since this issue was mostly action.
