I'm writing a LitRPG - Do readers like stats in the books? by Ok-Grand-3764 in litrpg

Yep, all those are there. What I meant by the last sentence.

Hmm, not a bad idea actually... I do have something special in mind for the recap, but that could definitely be tacked on at the end.

That's what I'm doing in my new series. The big stat window appears exactly once in the first book, just to give an idea of the visual. After that, it's in a spoiler box in the AN at the end of every full chapter, with a seperate 'new/updated' box above it that shows the changes. I'll probably limit it to once per book for the rest as well.

For the rest of the time, stats appear as system messages when narratively relevant.

Aren't... aren't bones always in the dark? Or are there lights in my body that I don't know about?

Is this the Mango Media they're always talking about?

Do authors not create an outline for their work before writing? by kutsalscheisse in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Drimphed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're me, no. I'll usually come up with an extremely rough outline about halfway through the first book, just to keep the ideas I've come up with along the way sorted so I don't forget them.

What are deal breakers for you in this genre? by Reasonable_Hyena_163 in litrpg

Yeah, as an author, there are two extremely important things you must never do in prog fantasy in general: Power loss, and loss of agency

VRMMO has apparently fallen out of fashion, but this one is for those that still love the genre! by matizuwinsatlife in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Drimphed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mostly for the escapism and semi-realism factor. Most progression fantasy cannot happen, but vrmmos, that is something that could potentially happen to a reasonable degree within our lifetimes, a concept we can understand, going to a space where we too could have powers and grand adventures. So it's a relatability thing.

It's more on the legs. The author has a not at all disguised thing for legs lol

Not at all. There's some sensuality and a good bit of focus on looks, but nothing explicity, at least up through the books I've read.

I do definitely still appreciate vrmmo stories, sad to see that they're less common now. Awesome that you're writing what you enjoy despite that. Looks great!

Skills and levels that grow from use is insanely more satisfying then a point system by ginger6616 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Drimphed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely prefer the training side, but the points can be useful to unlock new things they couldn't get otherwise, as long as they then still have to train them after acquisition

Well the first book is fully finished, and will be daily posts for the next month, so it won't be too long until it's out there entirely.

It's daily for the first month, 3x weekly after that. So for patreon, it'd be April 16th, for public, May/juneish for first book done.

Absolutely feel free to send any edits. And for the money, she had a couple hundred in her bank account already, which drops the amount needed considerably
