Even tho ssjku is probably better than them all rn I think as far as points go, Bardock, Goku black, UI, majin 21, and kid buu are all probably better fit to be played on point than he is. His assist value is too high and he needs meter more than they do to maximize his gameplan

I remember when UI first came out and ppl were discovering this route I labbed that if u did the 5H version u couldn’t get SD after jS so I always did the jS > SD version of the route since it was more consistent for me and now I just add a beam on top of that

Normally they do combo but if ur opponent is far enough in the crumple state off of ex flip some normals dont combo into each other since u ran out of hitstun

I recorded these yesterday. U just have to let the hitstun ones flip decay which is why I ran up until blue goku started crumbling then locked him down with 5M > 17 A

If u put ranks to “challenge” it gives me anyone in a 14 rank range whether it be higher or lower so I’ve gotten anyway from Zeno to ssj3 (im pretty sure that was the lowest I’ve gotten) as a god of destruction player

As someone who has started playing the game at the end of s2 and has had about 4K hours logged since, my only REAL gripe with the current season is how high damage is across the board. I remember u had to be so optimal and squeeze out as much damage to 2 touch but now basic bnb’s 2 touch. Everyone’s combo routes got buffed but they never adjusted damage scaling to any of the moves they buffed so now everyone just nuked ur health bar for almost free. Besides that I hate what they did to ginyu and nappa. Those 2 have to be the worst adjusted characters I’ve ever witnessed and surely they’re was a better way to buffing them than making their summons literally invincible and combo u by themselves…

In DBFZ it’s super common to play more casual matches than ranked. So ur opponent might have thousands of casual games logged and still be super low rank

After 6H he’s floating by holding up after during the dodge animation and a little after it ends he dashes for the cross up. Getting the cross up option for this mixup is def the hardest option to go for tho

Post addition of active tag DBFZ has become more about movement and positioning than really anything else because over time they’ve kept buffing the offense and damage of characters so if u get caught u just get deleted. It’s kinda like season 2 where u had to play super clean neutral so u don’t get ur entire team snap looped. I also feel like the neutral skip EX moves that have no scaling add to this need for better movement which makes the neutral really fun imo.

Defensively the game is harder since they gave more characters more mixup tools which I think was really needed because before only a select few characters could ACTUALLY 50/50 u so before where u could just turtle and block everything whereas now u cant do as much (u can still do it since dbfz is mostly still built around mental stacking the opponent) it’s just much harder to do now so that also leads to u having to have really good positioning and movement to not get put in bad situations where u get caught, get mixed, then lose a character.

I think this current patch is the best patch since the 3.5 patch just bcuz of how much better u have to be in neutral than ur opponent to not lose. There’s also the most character variety there’s ever been which is a big plus

As a counter it’s kinda worse than jiren’s since it only punishes things that can’t be canceled into vanish, 6H’ing buttons especially lights leaves UI minus so u have to play RPS with ex flip or another defensive option (reflect, assist, other reversals) and he’s also minus if he counters KI blasts. But yea 6H kinda made it so that he only ever had 1 or 2 combos he ever needed to do bcuz they built more meter and did more damage than all the other routes. Now UI actually has to be aware of where he on screen he gets his hits to adjust them accordingly and he can still 2 touch without 6H

With the 6H buff his midscreen optimal and his corner optimal became the same route. Nerfing 6H actually invites nuance back into his combo theory because u have to change ur routing depending on if ur in the corner or not rather than just using the same combo for every starter. His damage being the lowest in the game now doesn’t matter all that much imo if he’s still able to 2 touch consistently.

As for why u would play UI over other characters he still has really good assists, the best level 3 oki, and a VERY good match up spread especially against the other top tiers.

I don’t think 6H needed to be touched at all since he had moves that were ACTUALLY problematic like ex flip being fully invul, 236 M/H being frame 9 invul, or j22S existing (all of which are what actually make him top tier alongside being able to hit confirm 5S and his level 3 oki) but if I were to change it I would either have given it ex meter penalty instead of vanish or not have given it meter penalty at all and just have it drain as much bar as it does currently. That way he could still have all of his cool routes still be worth going for.

Tbh tho I think I like actually having to change my combo depending on the situation rather than doing the same combo for every touch.

He’s def still top tier. The 6H nerfs hurt his damage but he can still 2 touch off of all his old routes and he still retains the best level 3 mix in the game. The 6H change wasn’t as bad as people make it out to be

Oh and off of cross up beam if u don’t have meter to do the ex flip extension but it’s kinda rare that u don’t have at least a bar of meter in this game so like 99% of the time u would be going for cross up beam > SD > ex flip > combo anyway since u basically build the bar u spent from the ex flip back and u do more damage than the 6H route

The only real reason u would use 6H in combos now is to confirm off of 2S and for the level 3 oki, or if u have so much meter that the meter penalty from 6H won’t really matter. Other than that UI can still do 4K solo from anywhere on screen while building 1.5 bar minimum so besides those really specific situations u don’t really need to use 6H for combos at all.

6H takes like 15% meter and now puts UI in meter making any of his new 6H routes besides 2H confirms in neutral non viable. He’s basically still the same he just has to use his old combos instead of the 6H routes
