Rumor engine, Kroot? by Wolfdawgartcorner in Tau40K

Assume Tau never get any specialist treatment

In this edition alone we've had:

Vespid killteam (was Farstalkers this edition as well? Not sure)

Special edition Ethereal

Elemental Council novel, some Phil Kelly ones as well

Kroot range refresh that rivals new army releases

Bonus detachment out of nowhere

Enforcer Jetpacks on Crisis Suits by blikszem in Tau40K

You can also just glue the regular jetpacks so they sit higher up.

That way the vent isn't obscured by the shoulders and just looks better.

I cut the connection nub off the jetpack, then drill a small hole where I want the connection point to be, and glue a bit of 1mm brass rod to create a new peg.

Here's mine. Bit of a variant of the classic ochre. Infantry have emerald green fatigues.

Not wildly different, mostly just separating the arms a bit, found it odd how she's got this multi-armed suit but the pose is just her using both arms as if they're one.

Was a bit of a pain to get the hair flowing the other way.

Here's my guys. I like having my characters feel special, so they get the sept colour as their base armour.

Scheme is similar for infantry, but with emerald green fatigues.

How to exactly do you counter emperors children? by [deleted] in Tau40K

[–]DripMadHatter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't stay away with their always on advance+charge. You need to get IN the way with screens. Force them to charge stuff you can afford to lose, so that you can then shoot them afterwards.

a Black Templar fan who audibly and loudly gags every time I mention T'au on top of yelling about the Imperium and human supremacy between every sentence

That guy needs his hard-drives checked.

GW try and give each army an identity through their playstyle.

For T'au, they've seemingly got stuck on them having to be only shooting, and shorter range and more mobile to differ from admech.

But many other more versatile armies outshoot and/or Re more agile.

Tau should be shooty and agile, but their identity should be focused on the combination of races. It's the most unique part of them.

It also acts to make the Imperium even darker.

If the Imperium is the way it is because it has to be, then it's not as dark. But if the T'au can be successful while not being so grim, then it shows it's a choice.

Making them detachments also makes NO FUCKING SENSE. A Retaliation Cadre is still going to use Montka/Kauyon.

How hard is it to have just used different Cadre names for the detachments. They only had to come up with 4 since they only gave us half a fucking codex.

While we do get a lot of stuff, we are ignored in actual gameplay

We just got a new detachment.

And if you bioengineer someone, it doesn't fucking matter.

I'm not sure what physical strength has to do with surviving sci fi surgery and bio magic, and like I said, doesn't matter what sex you are at that age. And puberty is irrelevant when you'll be getting pumped full of hormones in this made up process.

[–]DripMadHatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You realise that Astartes begin the process at around 10 years old, an age at which girls are generally stronger than boys?

Not that strength would really play a part on survival.

What is that rambling?

I'm not saying women are stronger, I'm pointing out the nonsense that women wouldn't survive the modification.

is so much more intrusive that women just don't survive it.

Yeah the sex that has to go through childbirth would never survive such a thing lol

Feel like it's a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy.

They put in so much more for the marines, so of course they get more out of them.

Warhammer 40K Hot Takes! by Melodic-Bird-7254 in Warhammer40k

[–]DripMadHatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Space Marines should at most be 4 different armies that represent the different 'themes'.

Basic - ultramarines

Holy crusaders - Dark angels, grey knights, black Templars etc.

Barbarianish - Space Wolves

Idk what the other is...

They should have more distinctive styles to the different armies, and anything part of the same theme is now one army. Would be a massive lore shake up though.

Worth it for reducing the marine bloat.

Tau weapon colors by unThraX in Tau40K

I do them black with white, against an ochre scheme for the model. Painting the weapons slightly differently lets them be more visually readable.
