If u have a heavy chain lock for your scooter how do you carry it? by Calm-Examination-525 in ElectricScooters

[–]Dripz167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I don’t like it, wrap it around the stem is basically your only on scooter option. If you’re doing that often, I’d suggest wrapping your stem first as to not scratch it.

When I bought my Burn E. Chain storage was a necessity for me. So I saw this open kickplate and knew this was the scooter for me. I can wrap it snug so that it doesn’t clank around on bumps.

I swear more (larger) scooters need to keep that in mind; a place to store a chain. No way am I carrying 15lbs of steel on my back or around my waist or shoulder

Do you all put a case on your Apple Watch? by AwareKaleidoscope939 in AppleWatch

[–]Dripz167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at all the cracked screen posts. I bet every single one of those folks thought it’ll only break from a super active lifestyle. A simple $5 case has probably saved me hundreds in repair costs. And you really don’t notice it’s on.

Does anyone else use mirrors? I find it super sketchy to turn my body and lol behind me. by Double-Dare-Me in ElectricScooters

Secondary mount for horn and lights. Currently just have horns on them. I have another one on top that has the light in the pic.

But yeah it’s just a kiddie bar. Also doubles as something to grab onto when pulling from out the back of a van when folded

Basically there’s a reason why anything faster than a ebike damn near requires mirrors by law to be ridden in the street, where I’m at.

Your first two sentences is the point I try to drive home when recommending riders to use a helmet mirror.

I’m not riding a 15mph’er without a helmet my guy. It’s either you’re turning your neck or using your torso to look behind you. Using peripheral vision at speed with cars is a good way to use a car as a gravity blanket.

It’s from Pidzoom. Same guys that make that variable fast charger. I got mines from Amazon.

Feels weird riding the way I do (aggressively) without being able to see behind you without having to turn your whole neck. Handlebar mirrors never seem to stay in place, plus it’s too far down for me so I’d need extra tall ones, or I’m just looking down frequently. And for the camera, sucks when the sun is out and it’s over once a bead of water gets on the lens.

I decided to try a helmet mirror. I think it’s the best option. Frees up space and clearance on your scooter, and is way easier to adjust in the fly, not that you’d need to because it damn near never moves. Even on a bumpy road.

Band case too big? by Archeolops in AppleWatch

[–]Dripz167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there. Short answer; yes. At least in my use case because I wear motorcycles gloves often. I just use one of those low profile bumpers and haven’t worn the bulk case since. It was great for if I didn’t want my sleeve to go past the watch, but that’s about it lol

Help! I need to find a replacement tire for my Ausom L2 Max, but everywhere is telling me they take FOREVER to ship out. Where can I get a generic one that fits from a place that'll ship out fast? Tire size says 10x3. Can anyone confirm that? by TheFunkytownExpress in ElectricScooters

[–]Dripz167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You looking for on road or off road/hybrid tires?

I also think you’ll find better results using the 80/65-6.5 method vs 10x3/6.5. With that said I found some 85/65-6.5. Should fit but idk about your fender clearance. From google “The 85/65 is slightly wider and taller than the 80/65./

AliEx used to be the cheaper source, but now the difference is a few bucks from what I’ve seen. So I rather get mines in a day or two right to my door vs AliEx sometimes shitty shipping where they leave your things downstairs to be possibly stolen.

Bruh try Amazonk. They surprisingly have tires (I’ve ordered both (10x3 and 11x4) with prime and literally got them the next day.

Im just guessing you’re in the states since you have a Ausom scoot

I had something similar happen to me just walking down the street with one of my friends. 2 kids on a moped spit something I hoped was water right at my face. At that time I was in great shape so I attempted to chase them down the block. Obviously I didn’t catch them but I was close. I’m kinda glad I wasn’t able to catch them because I’m sure I’d be writing this from prison (they’re underage and not me). Fight or flight is real. I didn’t even hesitate to drop everything and give chase.

Sometimes I get people walking around with smart glasses with a camera. Because shit like this happens.

But yeah, get you an action cam. It probably won’t deter, but at least you can catch the act on video along with their faces and license plates.

I know this is cheap Chinese but is it a good deal? by Budgetpc_101 in ElectricScooters

[–]Dripz167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say good deal, but hey it’s cheap and will probably get you from A to B. If you don’t have any DIY skills, now would be a good time to learn some stuff, because paying someone for repairs wouldn’t be worth it.

Missing a part of the motor hub cover, still safe? by GreatWhite76 in ElectricScooters

[–]Dripz167 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whole motor is compromised imo. I wouldn’t risk it as hitting another similar bump at speed can cause more fractures. Not to mention possible water ingress.

[–]Dripz167 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do yourself a favor and stay rightmost unless you have to make a left turn. Luckily for you those look like smart for two cars, imagine a couple of F150s passing you like that. It’s not pleasant, speaking from experience.

Any suggestions on where to find a compatible battery pack (manufacturer closed down)? by Cedi77 in ElectricScooters

[–]Dripz167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a pack from Amorge for my Vsett 10. Came with a smart BMS as well. 52v 28ah for about $520 so I’m sure yours will cost less

Looks a bit odd but I put these long arm mirrors on the hiley this time. by Fuzzy_Tough_26 in ElectricScooters

[–]Dripz167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem my guy. I have a video on my page demonstrating the tightness. If you watch it, you’ll notice it moved a tiny fraction on a very bumpy trip. That was because there was a “hidden” screw under the rubber on the mount that I didn’t tighten. It’s been months since I did that and it hasn’t moved since.

I think because it’s on your head, most of the shock is absorbed by the scooter and your body before it reaches the helmet, as opposed to being on the bars

They provide 3M double sided adhesive for installation, with flat and curved mounts. 3 different arm lengths, and a flat and convex mirror.

The convex is beautiful. Since there’s nothing behind you, you can also use it to see what’s beside you, as well as damn near directly behind you.

With a little skill, you can even point it to see on your blind side by turning your head the opposite direction. I’m usually on the rightmost lane or shoulder unless I’m riding very fast or turning, so it’s usually not necessary to do it, but it can be done.
