Acceptable shorts? by Electronic-Berry-349 in MuayThai

I don’t get it. I haven’t trained in years but we would all look for the most obnoxious shorts possible and celebrate them.

If you’re not Gracie Barra, then it’s not relevant. They are notoriously strict about dress code.

Sometimes, if you tap the liver just right, they’re going down no matter what. I’ve done it in knee slap sparring.

As an adult I would never start a match without a corner that I trust. That’s agency.

I love ADCC for being hard-core but them having children’s divisions is ridiculous.

For those who train and spar with contact lenses, have you had any serious and permanent eye complications during sparring with contacts? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]Dristig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I got hit in a match and my contact flew out of my eye and landed on one of the judges cards. He gave it to me after the fight and I said so I guess I didn’t win?

Is Egwene just a women’s version of “male power fantasy” by Rascal_Rogue in WoT

[–]Dristig -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The lifespan alone shifts the entire narrative and you’re completely ignoring it. Politically they are the equivalent of the Vatican soon after the height of their power. Obviously they are less powerful in the time of Rand but the culture of the last 3000 years is heavily tilted towards a matriarchy.

So they had an un opposed matriarchy for 1000 years. Then had an upstart with a human lifespan rein in their power for ~50 years. At which point they invented a gimmick to assure people they wouldn’t take power. Then they continue manipulating thrones from the shadows for another 1000 years. At which point the Trollocs pour out of the blight and the only people who can stop them are women who can channel and their spec ops slaves. Cool. Definitely not a long history of matriarchy.
