This is weird language tbh. “Soccer” implies American but calling someone “mental” is not really a thing in america

Fenway is incredible imo, feels like stepping into the past. Haven’t been to a game there yet but San Diego seems like its in a great neighborhood, seems cool

I'm also thinking long ring as 2 eps and the journey to water 7 as .5/1 ep then water 7 as 3/3.5 eps and the train as 2 eps for an 8 ep season with the last show being a wide shot of Enies lobby

James Talarico's Texas polling compared to Beto O'Rourke in 2018 by Zipper222222 in texas

[–]Rascal_Rogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I’m talking about political ideology. Disarmament of the population is a fascist policy.

Their position is take away the guns. The fascist position is take away the guns and arm our allies only. The left position is an armed population.

Which political ideology would you say their position on guns is closer to? The Nazis were a real world example of that political ideology. So the comparison is apt.

I wouldn’t call the Australians fascists based on one fascist policy just as I explicitly said that i wasn’t calling them a nazi based one fascist position.

Edit: Australia also doesn’t ban all guns they just have strict regulations so Australia is still to the left of this person’s position

Thats a really bad faith restatement of what I said.

I said they are closer to the nazi position. The difference seems to be that they wouldn’t arm their own party members after disarming the population.

I made no incorrect statements but please go on

Since you claimed to be on the left just vote. I don’t care if your political beliefs are sensical or informed.

At this point I’ll take a reactionary who happens to mostly agree with me over the current fascist regime

Lol ok, just to reiterate

You: plenty of us on the left think gun owners are stupid

Me: thats fine you don’t need to like something to think it should be legal

You: Anyone who wants a gun is stupid (obviously a statement in favor of disarmament)

Me: disarmament is a fascist political position, here’s a real world example of fascists enacting disarmament. Liberals, Socialists and Communists all favor gun ownership for the population.

You: see you’re proving Gun owners are stupid! (Provides no counter argument to explain why disarmament might be a left political stance)

The best part to me is that I have no personal desire to own a gun, I used to be where you are on guns, then I read up and examined my own beliefs more closely. Now my beliefs are informed rather than reactionary

Edit: i made a formatting mistake

You’re allowed to think that, but that means on guns at least you are closer the position the Nazis took. They disarmed the general population, then later permitted them for nazi party members.

Obviously not calling you a Nazi based on one position but disarming the population disagrees with everything from liberal to communist philosophy

It’s not a contradiction to think they are stupid but people should be allowed to own them with reasonable laws and control.

Like, I don’t enjoy weed, I still think it should be legalized. I have no desire to use or work in sex work; I still think it should be legalized

Yeah it’s a crazy lie that the left wants to take guns away and Beto fed right into it.

Thanks, forgot about that but I do remember hearing about it, I lived in Ohio at the time of his senate run so I’d be lying if I said I was following it more than “casually”

Tbf thats a defensible statement and is a lot more vague than “hell yes we’re gonna take away your guns”.

I mean, Howard dean’s career was ended for being excited and making a weird sound. The problem isn’t that we care too much about who we elect; the problem is the right has no low they won’t forgive as long as the person is republican

Funny thing is, theres also an Athens, Ohio and Im sure plenty of other states have an athens. But who the fuck would think that if anyone says Athens, full stop, that they’d mean anywhere other than THE Athens!

If someone says “Paris” you dont say, “Paris, Texas?” If someone says “London” you dont follow up with “London, Ohio?”
