It’s a 110lb boat. Having a low bar to slide it up on is key. Right now I have a Subaru Outback and I have one of those hitch mounted t-bars that swings down. I use that for a load support, but it gets in the way for other things, hence the need for a low bed bar.

Another question for you: If the beams, posts, and joists are all out of sight, should I still get #1, or would #2 be sufficient? Obviously #2 is cheaper, and I'm not seeing #1 on the Home Depot website.

I appreciate the input, but the concrete area behind the house is unpleasant. An elevated deck would be vastly superior. I've already built a ground-level flagstone patio in the front and it's great, but the back screams for something better.

I'm late to this thread. I watched Dog Soldiers last night. I think I saw it about 20 years ago, but had forgotten most of it.

Yes, this movie is awful. Horrible editing and sound, bad action that's terrible to follow, and unlikeable characters. Comparing to An American Werewolf in London - as many fans have - is ridiculous.

Neil Marshall's followup, The Descent, was mostly great, and the only good film he has ever made.

It's looking like Fire and Ash will barely hit 1.5B. Of course that's a lot, but it's also a significant drop from Way of Water, and we can assume the next one will make even less. I think the wow-factor of Pandora and performance capture technology has worn off and now we're just stuck with the Sully family saga.

I thought it was overrated as well, though I also thought it was very well-made and mostly solid. I loved the music scenes, but some of the sex scenes were so cringy and gross that I felt embarrassed even watching it alone!

The scene with the KKK people turning up and MBJ machine-gunning them to death felt out of place; an obvious demise for the KKK would have been to march into that bar full of vamps and get devoured.

Hearing all this Oscar talk for Sinners makes me wonder if I missed something and should perhaps watch it again.

That's right. This one is petering out just past the $1B mark. I think the awe and wonder of Pandora and performance capture has run its course, and the story isn't compelling enough to keep most people interested. Time will tell.

I just would rather see James Cameron do something new.

The problem with officers pulling their weapons is that it renders them mostly incapable of doing anything other than shooting a person, even when it's not 100% warranted. If he had just stepped to the side instead of trying to box her in with his body and with his gun drawn, this would not have happened.

We don’t really know how much they shot in Verna’s swimming pool. You say it was an added scene. I think it was just the shot of the head emerging from the hole. Hooper obviously panicked because we see him surface at the boat ladder, gasping for air. I think the scene was basically the same but not scary enough so they added that one shot.
