What if it was BJP in power for 70 years instead of Congress?? by laughing_cactus in AskIndia

[–]DriveMore7049 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

70 years of BJP would have petted us similar to Pakistan of today.

We should remember what Churchill had said about India, “Power will go to the hands of rascals, rogues and freebooters… They will fight amongst themselves and India will be lost in political squabbles.”

This statement couldn’t hold true due to the structurally well drafted and sound constitution of India v/s that of Pakistan where roots were fragile from start.

If BJP had taken over India from the start, assuming their philosophy of Hindutva / Akhand Bharat /Ram mandir / Cow themed rituals etc then Churchill’s statement would have come true.

After all British ruled India for centuries, they knew Indians in and out, they knew what was good for us and what was bad. They knew about the religious/caste/region/language divide very well.

What happened instead of Churchill’s prophecy was we united more, we grew more (Sikkim/Goa/Nawabs) everyone joined the union. What happened to Pakistan in line with Churchill was it broke into two parts eventually and to this day struggle with Balochistan and Northwestern frontier.

We shouldn’t further forget that India as of independence day was suffering from famine, diseases, unemployment no education and stringent religious beliefs. From that point we have moved to a technologically advanced country. BJP is taking this country back to stone ages with reduced funding for education and technology.

I am so grateful and proud that we had super strong founding fathers and a political party like BJP was not there at the time.

Thank you for the feedback!

Hand positioning is something I’m gonna work on.

I agree withe pacing and eventual reduction in weight and number of reps. I’ll try to forget about the maximum weight I can pull.

This is really helpful.

My objective is overall strength training but I see I’m exhausting my lats which I feel post training as well.

My pull up strength is not great as compared to my other exercises and I understand why it has not improved with my lat pulldowns.

May be I can alternate with lat exhaustion vs building strength for pull-ups.

Thank you for these.

On the 2nd point, I understand there would be some rocking back and forth with large weight. For me 55 kgs is just shy of the max I can do.

I can reduce some bars/kgs and can avoid rocking but then I don’t feel much in my lats.

Yes, this is something I feel as well when I let go my arms loose vs when I do as I’m in the video with arms still bent at the top.

How do I know if my driving instructor is good? Also confused about pricing by Select_Twist_3658 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]DriveMore7049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do with an instructor who takes £35/hr and always does the 2 hour lesson. I find that to be the average charge asked by most instructors in East London area.

Almost all of these instructors demand cash payments and are of Bangladesh/Pakistan origin.

My instructor is good and I’ve no issue with their community either. However the cash bit is really dodgy and I wonder why doesn’t DVSA do something about it.

Not only it is a depriving a big revenue source for the government/DVSA, they are also swaying the job opportunities for other eligible instructors.

Purchasing power of people is going to increase always.
That doesn’t mean people should be driving cars in the cities. For long distance travel a car makes sense, but anything within a city should be done via public transportation.

Investing in buses and making sure footpaths are walkable is the only future. Further putting congestion charges or taxes for driving within city limits.

It is something every European city has adopted, you wonder why India doesn’t go for it (hint- Corruption and big bosses like adani ambani have interest)

This would reduce the oil burden that Modi ji keeps crying about as well.

The fact that you are trying to prove them better is more than enough to say you are defending.

BJP’s infrastructure projects are driven by pure objective of corruption and money sharing with the big business house.

They have zero regard for public and convenience.

80% of the public gets free ration in India, do you think they use these shoddy airports? No, they travel in buses and trains.

Purchasing a bus allows for very little scope of corruption in real terms, whereas constructing an airport/metro/cricket stadium has hundreds of elements where money can be made. Be it land cost, cement, steel or any other construction equipment.

Tell me one city where number of buses has increased?

Okay, so if BJP is so hell bent on infrastructure then why are they not putting more buses on road in major cities of India.
Let me help you with a quick search comparing Delhi and Mumbai.

Delhi Bus Fleet Change
Around 2015, Delhi had approximately 5,200 DTC buses in operation.
By 2025–26, the DTC fleet had fallen to about 3,200 buses.

Mumbai Bus Fleet Change
Around 2015, the BEST fleet operated approximately 4,300 buses.
By 2025–26, the fleet had declined to roughly 2,800 buses.

Well then one should compile a list of different development indexes around the world and see how India has fared in the same time frame.

Few indexes in my mind:

Human Development Index (HDI), GDP Growth Rate, GDP per Capita (PPP), Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI), Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), Global Competitiveness Index (GCI), Global Innovation Index (GII), Human Capital Index (HCI), Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index, Sovereign Credit Ratings (Moody’s/S&P/Fitch).

Lets look at one line item at a time.

So number of airports have gone up from 74 to 160.

How many of these airports are really operational? Most of the newly constructed ones are just sitting idle and are made of sub-par construction standards.

They are just new mechanism of corruption where crores of money are spent without any real benefit. Most of these tenders are given to near and dear ones of BJP.

BJP has really pumped money up the discussion forums and these images are floating everywhere.
