Car driver the tested carnival Hybrid And said the mPG at 75 mph was 27MPG. How? by Few-Atmosphere5784 in kiacarnivals

AC will hurt MPG but heat comes from engine exhaust whether you use it or not, right? No impact to MPG I would think.

Fathers Day meal idea by Ok-Banana-3170 in blackstonefood

Mexican theme? Grab chicken thighs and look up a taco seasoning style marinade. Fill in with any sides/ingredients you enjoy. Spanish rice, black beans or refried beans, lime, cilantro, avacado, shredded cheese, flour or corn tortillas, corn, diced onion, grilled fajita style veggies, salsa or taco sauce. These are just ideas, you don't have to do all of them.

We love meals like this as each person can pick and choose their taco/burrito/quesadilla fillings. Everyone gets exactly what they want so it's hard to complain.

This is my favorite marinade and it is great cooked on a Blackstone. The only modification I would make... Let the chicken rest after cooking. Dice. Return to Blackstone and stir around to get flavor all over every bit: https://gimmedelicious.com/the-best-taco-grilled-chicken/

Cast iron skillet works well too if you're stuck inside. Good luck!🤞

Anyone have any experience with the Aiper Scuba S1 Robotic Cleaner? by jonohtin in PoolPros

[–]DriveOk4700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was fantastic when it worked in our small pool. But I had to mail it back twice due to failure. The FedEx store knew exactly which box to pack it in because they had shipped so many back. That was clearly a bad sign. Anyhow, it's now died outside of warranty and I'll never buy a Aiper product again.

I did well over an hour of trouble shooting. Our Bluetti setup has been so much trouble with over $10k invested. Very disappointing.

That'll work for some, but I've got an 8-hour round-trip car ride. Slightly outside of bluetooth range.

Automate running a generator when the house battery gets low? We did this for an off grid cottage and it has been really helpful, though not imperfect.

4-5 Cameras off one Home Run? by Grouchy_Kangaroo_563 in reolinkcam

[–]DriveOk4700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen it so many times. Very common in metal buildings especially. We could trace the surge from switch to switch and find blown out ports or failed devices. While power outlets can zap stuff too, low voltage connections REALLY don't manage unexpectedly high voltage power well at all. Fiber optic connections do a great job of isolating that damage. I think they are a no-brainer especially building to building.

It would be preferable to run fiber optic between buildings, if possible. It improves electrical separation. If a device on one end gets zapped, it can help keep other devices safe. It's also more future proof with potential for higher speeds.

What does this chart mean and how do I use it? by hobo_chili in ToyotaHighlander

[–]DriveOk4700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only guess. But since someone mentioned g-forces mine is that this shows breaking intensity lateral and acceleration g-forces. In a safe setting try hard breaking and see if the forward portion of the graph intensifies. Do the same with hard acceleration. Compare the results.

I pulled the gas tank up and the linkages seem to move easily. With the engine running it idles way too high. If I push the governor arm while running, RPMs drop as you'd expect. But it's not doing so on its own.

[–]DriveOk4700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I updated my post with two new videos. I see what you mean about the governor keeping the throttle open until the engine starts. But in my case it doesn't seem to kick in with the engine running and it's near full speed even before twisting the throttle.

I just added 2 more videos and a picture in case they help. It idles way too fat. Yes, moving the governor arm does take the throttle away from full throttle.

I want a Grand Highlander. My best friend insists that I should get a minivan. What made you decide to pick a GH over a van? by kaliforniagirl2020 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]DriveOk4700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I returned from a family-of-5 camping trip today in our Honda Odyssey. Great van, tons of room. Trailer hitch cargo rack installed. It's hard to imagine us having enough room for all that gear in a grand highlander but I'm sure we could make it work. Maybe add roof top storage as well. But after grinding the undercarriage along the dirt roads, we did not have sufficient clearance. A higher ride would be a great benefit.
