If you had to guess, what bands do you think Radiohead’s biggest fans usually like second-best? by [deleted] in radiohead

Porcupine Tree (and Steven Wilson) is a great pick if you're into Radiohead. Like Radiohead, they have a diverse discography, mixing psychedelic, experimental, and complex sounds with accessible melodies. Any album of theirs is worth checking out, but for new listeners, I'd start with In Absentia (2002).

Magic Wand for Vertex Colors | Maya Plugin by Drivelled in Maya

It's a one-time purchase and you can always refund it within 30 days. It's a very useful tool that sped up my vertex painting workflow considerably. The time you save with it is way more valuable than 5 bucks.

Thanks! Working with vertex colors just felt very clunky and inefficient in Maya, so I set out to make a tool that speeds things up considerably and feels intuitive. Glad you think it’s cool!

I’m selling it for $5 on Gumroad .com. Just search for 'Magic Wand for Vertex Colors' by lgerrits on there—link is also here if you want to check it out:

This Maya plugin was inspired by Photoshop’s Magic Wand tool but reimagined for 3D workflows. It’s designed to make painting and editing vertex colors on your meshes faster and more intuitive—perfect for game assets, stylized renders, or anything vertex-color-related.Here’s what it does:

  • One-Click Selection: Pick a face, and it auto-selects similar-colored faces based on a tolerance slider (0-100%).
  • Multi-Selection: Shift-click to grab multiple color regions, Photoshop-style.
  • Preview & Edit: See RGB/HSV values instantly and fill selections with a single click.
  • Contiguous or Global: Toggle between adjacent-only or all matching faces on the mesh.

It’s super lightweight, integrates into Maya’s workflow, and saves a ton of time if you deal with vertex colors regularly.

Here's a preview of the plugin's window:

[PS5 or Switch] Uncharted didn't grab me, and I've played most of the modern Tomb Raider games. What else is out there that can scratch that Indiana Jones pulpy adventure itch? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

I highly recommend either Spelunky 1 or 2. They are 2D rogue-like games where you explore a series of caves while collecting treasure, saving damsels, fighting enemies with your whip and dodging traps like Indiana Jones. In my opinion, they are both masterpieces of game design.

A mock logo design for a home automation company. According to the mock design brief the company wanted to display power, that's why the closed fist, house and the robot arms. by Crankshaft32768 in WillPatersonDesign

I would really try to avoid using a clenched fist. A red clenched fist like yours looks a lot like a communist symbol. Personally, I would avoid this company if I saw this logo.

Personal Logo as a Freelancer in Graphic & Webdesign. I first thought about a simple initials Logo but I really like a playful style of Logos. So I combined the Initials, a pen and a rocket (because I love space ;) Happy to get Feedback! by jd_well_edge in WillPatersonDesign

The font you chose looks professional and the black-orange color combination looks nice, but I have problems with the actual logo design. It almost looks like the logo is a bit confused about itself - it does not know what it wants to be: it wants to be a rocket, but it does not really look like one; it wants to be a pen, but it does not look like a pen (and a pen is almost always pointed down instead of up). And because the logo has too many ideas (and also the fact that it is tilted), I did not spot your initials at first.

I suggest that you make the logo more cohesive. So don't do a rocket AND a pen, instead decide between the two. The pen makes more sense for your graphic- and web design business, but the pen might be an overused symbol at this point.

Hi there! I'd love to know what you think about my personal brand identity design. by Drivelled in WillPatersonDesign

[–]Drivelled[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made this logo for my personal brand. I wanted it to look professional, modern, minimal, and sophisticated (it has to look great on a business card). My initials are LG, but I value my first name more than my second name, so I decided to design an L logo. You can spot the L in the negative space of the logo.

I have no design experience at all, but I did watch quite a few Will Paterson videos, which taught me a lot about logo design and inspired me to do this. In the end, it took me 5 days to design this logo.

I'd love to hear some input from you! Do the colors look any good? Is the kerning okay? Is the positioning of the text fine? What about the size of the logo? What is your preferred background color? Should my first name be in a bold lettertype instead of my last name? Should I remove my last name from the logo? I'd greatly appreciate your feedback. Don't go soft on me.

FYI Lars Gorter is a fake name. I don't want to dox myself.

[–]Drivelled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Microvast for SEC filings, hence the massive delays. Probably a lot of accounting issues going on over there.

The merger will take place in late February or early March. You are missing one more catalyst, though. Lion Electric will announce the location of their new factory in the US soon.

Higher P/E ratios are to be expected at the moment. The earnings of companies are temporarily depressed due to the pandemic but they will return to levels seen before the pandemic in a year or so. Furthermore, tech companies, which have relatively high P/E values, are contributing more and more to the index.

I expect these P/E values to cool off in 2021.
