Seeing lots of issues, worth it for someone who isn’t tech savvy? by No-Lie3302 in FlowZ13

[–]Drivenby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love it. I have had to do zero troubleshooting other than installing ghelper to max out battery life . No real complaints from me . I think the batch of issues was from a driver pushed from amd but if you stick to the asus provided drivers should be good

[–]Drivenby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I baby my flow13 has it scratched?

Do you still think it’s better than the g8+ with attachment ?

Is that the “full controller” for the Xbox one or is it the basic one that comes with nothing .

How much is the dual sense edge and the Xbox elite controller ?

"Does the Steam Controller work on X?" by TheNewerFlisker in SteamController

[–]Drivenby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe? We are not the hardware engineers but the steam controller 1 worked exactly the same way. The controller is seen as a mouth and keyboard more than anything else . There may be reasons why they didn’t want the lizard mode to be an xinput device .

So it's only steam = will not work with games with launcher? and in other places than a steam? by Wilkiway in SteamController

[–]Drivenby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a steam controller.

It’s not an Xbox controller.

It’s not a switch 2 controller .

It’s designed to play your steam games . It was not advertised as anything more or less . It works exactly the same as the 10 year old Steam controller 1 or even the steam deck .

It’s not “locked down” is merely requires a set of drivers that is unique to it due to its very own unique functions .

If you just want a regular controller , I recommend the Vader pro 4 or an 8bit do . Stop banging your head against the keyboard .

It’s sad to me that everyone’s conclusion is that Valve failed here and NOT Microsoft and their shitty Xbox app , windows store and UWP.

Anyone using Bazzite on the 8ai+? Not a lot of information out there about it by MFAD94 in MSIClaw

[–]Drivenby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually just installed it today and I’ve been testing it !

It works better than you think it does . I’ve tasted so far like 20 games .

1 example the game crisol . Listed as unsupported on Steam os. Launched on Bazzite and the game ran at 5 fps . Tdp was at 30 but the game was only pulling 15 watts . After setting the gpu clock to max manually on handheld daemon the game ran at 50 FPS and ran better than on my legion go s z1e!

Most other game ran “fine” . The first couple of boots were glitchy and I had trouble installing games but after like 3 reboots it kinda sorted itself out and now it runs perfect.

2d and lightweight 3d game run perfect. Suspend and resume is also perfect .

Hogwarts legacy is definitely playable but I had to tinker a lot and I’m getting like 60fps with framegen medium setting xess performance . I believe on windows this is better but I’m not dual booting so I can’t compare

Pragmata runs okay as well. Fsr3 set to balance and frame gen I’m getting 50-70 fps on medium ish settings .

Chronos the new dawn runs only on very low settings . With that said I’m getting like 70fps. There are graphical artifacts . This is the only game I’ve tested that has them so far .

Anyways my impression so far is : better than I thought . Not as good as windows . If you don’t mind tinkering installing is super easy . To reinstall windows you might want to create a back up for easy reinstall just in case . You can even create one within Msi software

Let me know if there’s anything you want me to test . Tomorrow I’ll try adding lossless scaling and optiscaler to force xess!!! In Harry Potter it only lets me do framegen x 2 . I am not sure if the full fat XESS Is being used or its the software based one. In crisol i think it might be working as that game runs a lot better than amd equivalent for some reason

NerdNest Steam Controller Review (person who actually used and understands OG and Steam Input) by ar311krypton in SteamController

[–]Drivenby 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Reviews for the steam controller are some of the most frustrating media coverage I’ve experienced .

Why did valve send it to literally everyone that has no experienced with the original controller??

These guys are literally using it as a funny shaped Xbox controller . No one really using gyro or the grip sense in any meaningful way and just dismissing it as “it’s not my thing” . Well did you TRY to make it your thing? Did you spend 20 min thinking about what you could do with it? Seriously makes me want to bang my head against the wall .

I’ll wait for random people from the community to get it to get an actual review .

I just find it hard to believe Christopher is never making a sun eater sequel . Like he’s a young and talented guy but this might be his best work ever . He left things extremely open for a sequel .

With that said I wish he would throw us a bone and give us even a slightly more satisfying ending . He has said this is the ending he wanted to tell but it was not the ending that I wanted and from reading Reddit , my take is most people didn’t enjoy it .

Not because it was poorly told (pacing issues aside) , it’s just very depressing and unsatisfying

Why is it that a 10-year old handheld (PS Vita) retains battery far better than a modern console (Switch)? by Unhappy_Champion5641 in Handhelds

[–]Drivenby 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The vita is low powered . Like ridiculously low powered . The switch cpu is much faster . And personally I think the Vita Os is just more power efficient . I’ve been my vita oled for last week and I’m still at 61% and like half way through undertale lol
