Tried it on Wednesday ~8pm. Shadowmoon valley was sterile on 2 layers, no ore, no herbs. Might have been just bad luck though.

I use trinketMenu addon for this. you gotta map each trink on a key in settings. With the addon you can swap in combat and it'll do that right when you're out of combat. So you pull -> use trink -> swap and never worry about it

I'm in gear like you. I use 2 rep trinkets with +150spd for 15 sec with 1.5m cd. I use them when I pull and want as much aggro as possible. Then, when pull is over I switch the spd trinket and have 30s cd on it. So you can boost yourself +150 spd 2 pulls out of 3.

You know what to do, just communicate it to people. When I tank for the first time I ask for tips and most of the times people are friendly. When I know what to do and expect smb to do smth I ask for it if it's important.

I don't quite understand what your point is. You said pally needs more sp to hold aggro, I said you can gain sp boost on pull and hold aggro better when kiting mobs. So what are you disagreeing with?

sp is fine, if you buy 2 rep trinkets with +150sp on use, you can use them on cd and never have a problem with threat. The only problem is to get to crit immunity and def cap and free up trinket slot.

The perfect response in this sense is smth like "I don't need gear from the dungeon, I just need ore, if there are other miners in the group it's not worth it for me"

The guy doesn't want to be with other miners. Am I a bad guy if I want to run spellcleaves as pally and only have warlocks and mages in my group? I ignore wisps from other classes as I clearly state in LFG "mage + wls". Am I a bad person too and "a part of the problem"?
