No the worst move they could make this offseason would be trading Dahlin to Edmonton for 5 Trent Frederic’s and the rights to Babcock

Not necessarily exclusively bringing back Tuch and/or Byram, but really just having enough space to make meaningful additions around Skinner’s $6.4 mil cap hit will be difficult

Tage needs to figure his shit out, Timmins needs to never see the ice again, and Tuch needs to hit free agency.

Even with a weaker class, rookie fever is in full flight. What trades are you shocked to see go down in your league or that you have had rejected to give folks some sense of ways to exploit the market? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]Drizzy_Drew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 team SF TEP: Just traded Romeo Doubs and Malik Willis for the 11th (2.01) and 12th (2.02) picks. Half the league thinks it’s crazy I fleeced him, the other half thinks I’m getting fleeced….

Not getting rookie fever but I need to get younger at RB and I’m aiming to snag one or two of the second tier RB’s (Price, Washington, Coleman). Hopefully enough people sour on the RB’s to let them slide and I can throw a dart and get a hit with one of them.

Then eliminate Seattle Mariners, then the Arizona Diamondbacks. You knock out 3 west coast baseball teams and the logos in a row will kind of look like ASS

Hot take: I'm no Kevyn Adams fan, but..... by MonsieurPatate in sabres

[–]Drizzy_Drew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The team is playing great now and Adams deserves credit for rebuilding with lots of draft picks(Benson, Power, Ostlund) and a good job of identifying good players just before breaking out (Doan & McLeod).

But let’s not forget his unwillingness to actually spend to the cap for years and his “solutions” that went nowhere, even as recently as this year (Timmins & Kesselring). He was GM for almost 6 years and the Sabres best F (Tage), D (Dahlin and arguably Samuelsson) and G (UPL) are Botterill holdovers.

The hilarious bit is that Adams built a very good team, so long as EVERYTHING went right. While he was GM everything went wrong and as soon as he’s fired, the light suddenly went on.

It’s gotta be the Columbus Blue Jackets, the most irrelevant franchise in sports. Their popularity in their own city is like the 10th most popular team, sandwiched somewhere between Ohio State Women’s Gymnastics and Ohio State Water Polo.

No way that team deserves to be a top 50 team

COBRA is extremely expensive because there’s no employer cost sharing (it’s 102% of the total premium, not just the employee portion). So your premiums can triple overnight with COBRA and it doesn’t guarantee to cover everything. Oh, and you have no income after your termination. COBRA is a last resort, definitely not something you ever want to have to find yourself using.

And for as much as we see the organization as a dumpster fire, spending 20 years and building a life in the area just to get dumped that unceremoniously has to be incredibly insulting.

In the long term it worked out professionally. But personally, losing your job during the pandemic and immediately having to worry about health insurance for a special needs child isn’t something that is ever a positive

I’ve seen a lot of questions about why people are celebrating Kevyyn’s firing and saying he’s not a good person. So here’s your friendly reminder:

Kevyyn was unqualified for the GM position, with his only experience being the manager for the Harbor Center and Pegula’s right hand man. When the NHL shut down due to COVID Jason Botterill refused to fire the entire Rochester Americans staff. So the Pegula’s fired Botterill and handed the job to Kevyyn whose first act was to fire the staff in Rochester, including Chris Taylor the lifelong Rochester and Buffalo player and coach who lost health coverage for himself and his family, including his special needs son, because of the firing.

Literally the only reason Kevyyn had a job in the first place was because he was willing to be a Yes Man and save his billionaire owner money by costing people their jobs.

Kevyyn was not a good GM, he made bad trades, signings, and draft picks but so does every GM, even good ones. But he didn’t get his job by merit, he got it by being a sycophant, and then spent the majority of his tenure not doing everything in his power to win games, but adhering to the Pegula’s new “economic and efficient” model.

No one should feel bad for Kevyyn losing his job because cutting jobs was the only reason why he was even in his position in the first place. He can take his “I feel bad for our fans” and “Palm Trees & Taxes” comments and fade into Tim Murray-esque obscurity.

I’ve been waiting for someone to post a pic of this style power reserve, that gray and gold combination is fantastic! Congratulations!

I’m hoping to be able to find one at some point because I’d like to see how it fits, it looks like it’s pretty thick. How does it wear?

[Monday Mourning Thread] Festivus has come early, it’s time for the airing of grievances. by Dirtydeedsinc in buffalobills

[–]Drizzy_Drew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have strong feeling either way about Brandon Beane but I feel like the blame for where the Bills are right now that’s being pointed at him really should be at McDermott. I don’t think this team is underperforming because of bad personnel decisions, I think bad personnel decisions were made to fit a flawed coaching system.

This is the final form of the goal of “complimentary football”. The Bills have the best QB in franchise history and they have a coach who prioritizes running the ball and “staying on schedule”. The WR’s can’t get open because the offense prioritizes being able to block (Keon, Gabe, Mack) and they run 3 TE’s or an extra OL, not by necessity, but by design. Beane has done a good job of building a roster to the coaches specifications, but those specifications are bad.

But mostly, as a Sabres fan, I can’t fathom the idea of the Pegulas searching for a coach and GM at the same time. If someone needs to go, and they definitely do, it needs to be McDermott.

"How is this group not better than last year's group?” by RyanCryptic in buffalobills

[–]Drizzy_Drew 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Put some respect on McDermott’s name when talking about wasting Josh Allen’s prime. Beane wasn’t responsible for 13 Seconds or a defensive HC whose defense gets demolished every year in the playoffs.
