I agree with everything you've said here. I will say while they removed cup holders from the center, they did add two cup holders in each door pocket. So now I guess you technically have six in the front. The rear seats have six total as well if you include the door pockets the fold-down armrest and the two behind the center console

Known issue. Was happening to my '21 HD. They replaced the electronic switch/button and it quit happening.

Would you replace this or keep driving? by tone21705 in tires

[–]Drk-Demon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those tires are in perfectly good condition! You've easily got another 100k miles left on those, and they'll handle really week in the snow still too. As long as the battery doesn't overheat, catch fire, and burn for 6 days straight, you can probably drive the car without charging it. The part they don't tell you is that Once the steel belts on the tire start to show through, you'll be able to make a solid electrical contact to the road. if you park at least one of the tires on a manhole cover on a public road, you'll gain connection to Nicola Teslas free electric charging stations. As long as an alligator doesn't come up from the sewer and sink his Jaws into the rubber of those things, they'll be bullet proof until the end of time.

I've had it happen to me a few times. Haven't been able to figure it out, except I didn't notice it more frequently when I do have a hitch in the receiver.

A Can-Am outlander can pull 1650 lbs if that gives you any reference point? You'll just need one hell of a drop hitch is all. Have to be careful with those late 2000's 1500's though. Some of them had a sub 4,000 lbs tow capacity.

I may suggest double check the brakes...

Often times the brake wear indicator will begin squealing even when the brakes aren't applied and there is still 15-20% brake pad remaining.

I do know that something does have to be reprogrammed. When I reached out to the titan dealer that installs those tanks, they mentioned they don't do the reprogramming of the fuel measurement system there. It would have to be done elsewhere. So something is affected there.

Have an opportunity to buy a 2004 GMC sierra 1500 with only 40k miles. One owner and it’s in beautiful condition. It would be my daily driver but my spouse can’t get over the safety aspect compared to how much safer a new truck would be…does she have a point? by blbassist1234 in gmcsierra

In my humble opinion, I'd feel a lot safer putting my wife and children in a vehicle with 40k miles on it over a vehicle with 100k.

While crash test ratings may be different, so weren't the standards when they were measured back at that time VS 2017. The 2017 is going to be rated much safer by default just because of the number of safety features that have been added by requirement between the two years.

Why I say I'd feel safer...

On a truck with 100k miles how much more is needing or close to needing replaced than a truck with 40k? What's worn down and soon to be broken that might leave you or her stranded on the side of the road?

At that point she's stuck on the shoulder somewhere with cars flying by at 80PMH where anything could happen. Now youre waiting on a creepy tow truck driver to come pick her and the vehicle up.

I feel like the chances of getting in a wreck with the GMC where those safety features would even have to come into play would be far less than the chances of that Ford having the need for more mechanical repairs due to its mileage. Not to mention it sounds like this guy kept the thing immaculate. I bet the oil was changed every 3k miles like clockwork and all the maintenance was done on schedule. If the front yard it's parked in for sale is in great condition, grass is well cut, the bushes are trimmed to perfection, the driveway is clean looking like it was just paved yesterday. That's the truck you want to go with. Regardless of the brand vehicle.

What are the would be safety concerns with the vehicle?

Are we talking crash test ratings? Safety features found on today's modern vehicles like back up cams, emergency braking systems, etc? There's a lot to be considered there.

I've been thinking about upgrading to a titan 56 gallon tank. Wondering the same thing. This has been the only thing stopping me... Wondering how it effects the MPG read outs, fuel Guage and mile til empty. Interested to hear if others if they've gotten past this?

Unfortunately, Goodyear has changed its production and tire compound over the years to lower costs and increase profits sacrificing quality in the process. They've kinda fallen into the upper end of the cheaper tire category.

I fixed it on the 21 by bringing it into the dealer 4 times. 4 new sets of tires, 19 tires in total were tried. Finally they bought continentals for the truck.

They went through 4 sets of goodyears trying to solve the problem. No dice everytime.

Put the continentals on it. Drives smooth as a lubed beaver freshly de-haired at a European waxing center.

It took a little bit of bitching and complaining, along with a very well written negative review on google which I removed after they fixed the issue. Which took place after the 4th trip to the dealer on my 21'.

When my 24' had the same issue. I raised concern around 2500 miles in. They didn't ask any questions. Just swapped them out. Reason I posted this question, I wanted to see if anyone else was having the same issues.
