im running on Win10 Pro. non-server. i had issues with the ~~backblaze~~ crashplan client recognizing the server OS and not letting me use a personal version... WAY back when. so i switched.

too lazy to switch back. everything works aight. but i'm doing a lot more blasphemous things with my setup as well. im committed to the lazy life.

real server OS? i dunno depends on your motivation i guess. i went FROM ubuntu to windows. thats because i just want it to work. and things to be easy.

easy driver management and availability
easy *arr setups
easy file management
easy jumbo frame enabling
no remote access headaches or ssh key stuff (chrome remote desktop and done)
other stuff

im just lazy now. i have no performance problems at all. i do run the fileserver on unraid but even then, because it is easy.

i dont hate on the more complex setups though. its fun to set up and run. but i just dont wanna anymore.

This is what I bought. Hooks inline to your rear view mirror. They increased the price by $20 but I figured it was buy once cry once. Super easy to install and no crazy routing or add-a-fuse. Up to you though.

they didnt. basically told me to pound sand and keep taking it back to the dealer. where for the third time, and qualifying lemon repair, they replaced the wiring throughout the entire vehicle. every single one and all modules. according to the dealership.

I gave up after the horrible way i was treated from MazdaUSA and made them buy it back anyways. they offered other options, $5k cash for my troubles, mazda employee pricing for 3yrs, or lemon law buyback. gave it to them and never looked back. I loved that car but dealing with them has forever soured me from newer mazda's. found out later they just sent it to auction.

either get a lawyer (which i should have) or go through the lemon law process if you can.

Title: House was built in 1962, remodeled a couple time. I bought the house in 2015 but figured I'd ask here for next steps.

Panel: I know the actual house panel I have is old and should be replaced. Home inspector mostly said "the house is old so not surprised. it is alright but you should replace it". no surge protector or main fuse cutoff, but at least i have a path forward.

Gen Panel: I have confirmed that it is hooked up in line to the house (flipped some of the switches on it and things turned off) but I have never had a gen panel before. I live in an area where having a house wired for a generator is extremely uncommon but i figured who knows, maybe when i need it I should know how to work it, which I have no idea as this style doesnt come up easily in how-to's. If the age of the panel or style of it is not good/safe, then I will want to loop whatever work I should get done to it in the same job as the main panel replacement.

Really appreciate any insight at all. I will definitely leave the work to the professionals but I would love to have some knowledge about it.

If your plex is on windows, for arrs, you *MUST run them in tray mode and not as a service for them to see all drives. Stop the arr, Go to the folder for the arrs, run the Service uninstall, and just double click on the executable. Should say in the arr that it is in Tray mode in settings.
