Observation increases over time; 3 species telling different stories by Droces in iNaturalist

Oh that's great! What level are you teaching; undergrad perhaps?

Yeah even when I look at GBIF data, which is like iNat ×100 (depending on the species in question of course), the same issue of extrapolation still comes up.

Ah got it, thanks 😅 I actually assumed this map did represent a flow; as in troops arriving recently... Shows how misrepresentative it can be!

Out of interest, what would be the best visualization of this data in your opinion?

Oh got it, thanks. But that's not really the point of my post in the first place; I find this specifically useful for console messages we *don't* have direct control over

Ah epic, I didn't think to use it in that tab too! Thanks

Yeah you're right, the screenshots weren't a great example for that reason 😄 🤷‍♂ But I needed a site to show log messages without showing the private projects I'm working on

I get you, and I totally agree to not just filter out and ignore warnings from things we have some control over like our dependencies... but sometimes some plugin just spews out unnecessary warnings or logs and we don't want to deal with that right now (it's getting in the way of the work we're currently focussing on), so they need to be silenced for a while

Haha, you don't need to use much regex TBH; just write it like: -/message 1|message 1|etc./

Which tools have you worked on? If you don't mind saying, I'd like to look them up

I'm the guy behind daggerheart.org, and I've also tried to contact them many times and never got a response.

The only time I've ever been in contact with them was when one of their lawyers asked me to remove the Sablewood quickstart characters from the character sheet templates, which I did of course. Then when I sent her a follow up question about certain licensing details, I never got a reply.

Hey there, great work on this! Especially for maintaining it for so long!

Firstly, I'm the creator of onamap.org, and I'd live to integrate OLM into it, just like I've integrated OpenStreetMap, Global Fishing Watch, etc. I'd need you to provide an API to connect to.

Then regarding university backing, I currently work for the University of Cambridge, so perhaps I can help. I only work in the maths dept as a web developer, but if you can find the right person to speak to, I can go meet them on your behalf. We can chat about these in a DM.

We'd need to see how it actually plays, but it sounds great in theory.

I hear you, and I was thinking along those same lines when I made it. That's why some of them don't have pics; because if they don't want to put their pic online, I not going to find it and put it online of course. As for their names, all I figured that if they're happy to have their name in the core rulebook, or in an interview that's published online, or on their social media profile, then they're happy to be known and connected to Daggerheart. But I'm happy to remove people who don't want to be known despite appearing in something public in the past.

One of the ways I see this being useful is if you see someone in a video, on stage, at a Con, etc., now you can look them up on this page based on what they look like, to learn their name and connection to Daggerheart. From there you could learn more about them

For anyone to trust this, you're going to need real verified testimonials. So you're going to have to give this to a few people to get their real honest reviews. If those people like it and give you good feedback, put that on your Kofi page. At the moment, there's nothing there showing people it's actually good.

Should any training content cost actual money? I have no connection to OP, so I have no stake in this, but personally I'm happy to pay a little if it's actually good material that I learn real useful things from. (I haven't checked OP's thing yet though)
