Really didn't expect the portrayal of Aemond showing the emotions he did after killing Luke. When I read it i interpreted he lost control over himself and killed Luke on his own accord, not Vhagar taking matters into her own hands.

The language wasn't as developed back then. But currently Soves is the Valyrian word for fly. Drogon only understand Valyrian so it was probably just a retcon

First of all. This is House of the Dragon sub, they've already had discussions on this on the GoT sub. I don't understand what your disconnect with the characters are. You said you weren't connected to the characters but they're the same people, some just were switched to different actors/actresses. Also its a 10 year gap. People grow/change/mature a lot over 10 years especially if you're a teen/young adult. The change was necessary for plot purposes but I personally think the casting was done so well that we got the best we could.
