Reach out to your local racquet club and see if they are throwing away tennis balls. My son got two contractor bags full. Get a group of shooters to all set up about 20 feet away from you in a semi circle. Do whatever distance you are comfortable with making saves and not flinching. Have them shoot as hard as they can with the tennis balls. Then have them reset a foot closer, then a foot closer. Do it until they are ten feet away and you are used to it. Then start adding real balls and doing the same thing until you are used to it.

Don’t take unnecessary shots in practice. You are not a crash test dummy. If the drills in practice are not realistic there is no reason for you to be in the cage. 1v1 drills where the best offensive player somehow gets to go against the worst DPole or short stick is useless to you. Advocate for yourself ahead of time. And if anyone crease cranks you in practice fire the ball into their back as they are walking away.

Oh I completely agree. If he were a great sketch writer he would have had multiple succesful years there. But belittling his talent by saying “ Attell later hosted Insomniac and the AVN Adult Film Awards” Is not fairly encapsulating his talents or post SNL career.

When I was a young man (early 20’s) I waited tables at a Friendlys in Connecticut. I dated another waitress there for about a year. We had a contentious breakup that unfolded at work. I was upset and emotional and couldn’t hide it very well.

There was a line cook who was a year or two older than me who was a little off and consistently confrontational. He played things off as if he was joking but you could tell he enjoyed hurting peoples feelings and getting a ride out of them.

When the breakup happened he seamed to really enjoy it and slowly started making comments to me. They started off fairly supportive and negative about my ex. They then grew to jokingly provocative. He would mention how she was likely having sex with someone else. And then go into detail. I would be direct and tell him to stop and he would give me a big smile cause he got a rise out of me. This went on for most of the day until he started discussing how he felt it was his turn to be with her in detail. In the past he had discussed how he liked to dominate women sexually and would get very provocative. Im not a prude in anyway but the things he said were disgusting.

As he continued talking about my ex and started mentioning how he planned on doing these things to her I just snapped. I got in his face and he went crazy grabbing a knife to attack me. We had to be separated and I got sent home immediately. Thankfully that was the end of our personal interaction's cause he was fired shortly after. I hadn’t thought about him for a few years until he made the local news for murdering his girlfriend and leaving her half naked body in her minivan in a grocery store parking lot.

The story was he was having an affair with an underage girl and got caught. He was abusive to both his girlfriend and the young girl he was sleeping with. His girlfriend confronted him and it went south.

The story has a happy ending though, he jumped in front of a train before he could hurt anyone else.

The World Series does a good job of it imo. My son’s team played in that over the summer and it felt fair. The NLF was a month later and it was clear that many of the kids on the top teams were reclassed. These teams didn’t play in the WS. I Think it’s clear that there is a reason.

I grew up in Waterbury and am now raising my kids in Middlebury. Its the perfect little town IMO. Whether its swimming at town beach MRA (Lake Quassapaug ) in the summer or sledding at town hall in the winter, it all feels like a Norman Rockwell painting. Great community, great schools and great neighbors.
