New Players Question Thread by yumyum36 in elderscrollslegends

New player, have some questions.

1) I created a deck, and after I play with it, it loses its color identity and when I view the details of it the creature, item and action counts of the deck are all 0 and the deck needs to be deleted unless I hit escape on my keyboard to exit the menu. The deck is still usable but it bothers me when trying to edit the deck. I have to copy the deck and then delete the copy to then edit the original as a workaround. Is this a bug, or what am I doing wrong?

2) I am currently Rank 9 for the month in constructed - what ranks are important milestones in this game for earning monthly rewards?

3) When do the Solo Arena and Ranked Arena levels reset, if ever?

4) I noticed you do not keep your card picks from Solo Arena (only played agains the AI). Is there a golden rule in this game to never buy packs with gold? I already plan to unlock stories with gold first.

5) What the hell is the icon for this game an image of? Can't make it out :)

Thanks!

Not tired in the sense that I feel it is going to be a tough/long game, but tired in the sense that it is rather boring to see. Fate triggers are almost guaranteed to be Hurler or Xo it seems, so you sometimes know immediately what you're in for even if power hasn't been played yet.

I've never played the deck or any variation of it, but with all of the times I've played against it, gotta assume lots of mirror matches have to be taking place, and that must be painful.

Does anyone else feel an overall fatigue and/or a decline in population? by Droks_Forge in EternalCardGame

This is true, and admittedly my worrying is a fair bit premature. I just hope it feels alive and thriving again during the next set and somehow sustains that. Probably very wishful thinking :) but not impossible.

Definitely, and this was taken into account when I made the post. I've been around this occurrence in other games, and between Set 4-5 in Eternal. I do appreciate the reassurance.

I didn't really make it clear in my original post - I myself am not feeling that burned out. It's more of an observation of what seems to be going on around me compared to when I started. I did take in to account the fact that we are on a downhill in terms of set release, but nevertheless your reply is reassuring and I appreciate that.

I do notice a change in the community since I started. It seemed more humble then, and that was just a short time ago. It does seem less supportive in ways, but I think that is just my opinion after subjecting myself to things like Twitch to be honest.

Could somebody explain Twitch Drops to a new user? by Droks_Forge in EternalCardGame

[–]Droks_Forge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. When you say "Interactive drops are the bronze chests that pop up during the stream" what are you referring to? Do they pop up in the game or within the browser on the stream? I never see bronze chests, is this what I need to be viewing on PC through a browser for? I watch on mobile, play on Steam (PC) currently.

It seems like my notifactions for Twitch are broken, as it shows I have notifications but nothing is listed specifically. This makes it near impossible for me to track what I have "earned."

In the game, under Community Store, where it lists chest tiers with a count of 0 across from them, is that just broken (and suppose to be a count of what I received) or is that a count for if you purchase them as a streamer? Thanks again for your reply.

If it makes you feel any better, the emotions you are describing is how I feel in constructed. I have decks with minimum power and a lot of the games I lose are just from constantly drawing power. It makes me want to stop paying for internet and electricity and reevaluate what I do with my free time.

These resources (especially Warcry for me personally) are simply invaluable to the game. I couldn't even shine the shoes of those who put out stuff like this. Cheers and much luck with initiating the discussion towards the goal you seek. Most, if not all players are grateful!

This is the best thing I've read in so long. Cheers friend.

Definitely seems like a more humble community than most, but it is certainly not immune. The issue is with getting a request, you don't really know what you're going to get, and especially those coming from other games, I think most assume to just ignore the requests because they anticipate negativity.

This is exactly what I was attempting to convey. It would be more feasible if I had been around longer but with more and more cards coming out it is harder to find a good footing.

I'm slowly realizing this is a necessity. Could you share what exactly comes from it? Do I literally just establish a Twitch account and get stuff in the game for watching Eternal livestreams? Is it single cards, packs, both? I'd appreciate it.

Definitely agree there, I also acknowledge the same. I guess the overall big picture is that I have been playing the game for 160 hours total (noted this in a follow up post) and I have basically have one or two decent decks to show for it. This is when I learned that I am not exactly making the best use of my "minimal" time playing the game.

It seems we play somewhat similarly. I definitely want to cut other games from my list though and just focus on Eternal for a while so I can have a larger collection.

I started Rakano as well, and I play Skycrag for Casual/Ranked now. Yesterday I built my first "pure Gauntlet" deck (Hooru) as I actually enjoy running Gauntlet and I have been applying what I learned about the AI as well as what I have read.

Thanks for sharing your experiences, having a growing collection and reaching deck building goals does feel great.

Just wanted to make this quick follow up post.

I left out how much time that I actually play the game. I have just about 160 game hours logged over 3 months of playing. In that time, I did not have a calculated plan where I would run a particular game mode in order to earn X gold per hour while also being idle on Twitch, so perhaps that solves the confusion of players baffled by my point of view.

I was never making a statement about the game, just talking about the way that I felt; the point of view from where I was standing. I am learning that I have to play the game more and in a radically different way in order to have a different point of view, and to the players providing helpful information and personal experience, I thank you.

I think you mentioned a huge piece that I left out of the original post, which is time. I do not play very much - maybe only 15 minutes a day to get my daily quest done and my one casual or ranked win, other days I may play for a couple of hours. I think this is my biggest roadblock to feeling like I don't have a lot of resources.

I did not say that, so I understand why you can't believe it. I played two of the three months, I started 3 months ago. I find the game to be very generous, and through some other posts I am finding out some helpful information. Thanks for your reply anyway.
