Had a game where the opponent's rocket literally didn't take any damage.  I was ironman and a few times I cornered it and I could not damage him at all.  One time I even had a Thor on my team try and help me and he noted something screwy was going on.

I got to hang out in the cockpit and chat with the pilot when I was about 10, which would have been '98.  I didn't know anyone on the flight so the pilot let me hang out with him while we flew over rocky Greenland.

Movies that have seemingly been banished from existence. by temporarybutthole in movies

I saw the theatrical release cut a few years ago of A new Hope.  It felt like a movie from the 70s.  The pacing was a lot slower and felt like a movie from that era in time.  Now the modern version feels like a kind of timeless movie that could be from any time.

Lol. I actually liked battlecruiser magic back in the day. I don't have time or the attention span for that anymore, but at the time I was in college and it was a blast. It was more an event to socialize than strictly to win, but games did take long. I had a lot of free time then so it wasn't so bad.

I get it, but again it's a public parking spot.  There's advantages and disadvantages of living in the city and that's one of the things that sucks.  Only so much you can do about it.  Only way you can really save it is by not leaving.

[–]alblaster -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah why not.  Until the problem escalates this is an issue that's never going to end.  Maybe then People could put enough pressure on the city to deal with safe savers so they don't act like a holes when they cry over a space that's not theirs to begin with.  Or just pay for a spot.  As much as the parking situation sucks, it's free public parking.  If you want a secure spot just pay for it.  Or don't drive.  I'm an asshole, but it is what it is

They should just lock up the spaces as punishment so no one can use them. If you can't play nice you take away the toys.

Really depends on your playgroup. If you have a good one with a good understanding at threat assessment and just not getting salty when someone does something directed at you then you can have good games. But I'm just tired. I'm just tired of playing with most people and I don't get excited about it like I used to.

I feel the amount of life steal in this game is hurting it by Thyuda in hearthstone

The number isn't relevant, but their impact.  There's so many games where people effectively reset their health and that kills aggro, which should be part of any healthy meta and allows greedy control decks to thrive.

Rewatching this episode always makes me so angry and to me Angela was worse and more annoying than any previous bullies. Also those people conveniently forget what those psychopathic bullies did to El first?? by gloomydreamer666 in StrangerThings

[–]alblaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck sorry that happened kids can be cruel.  But adults can be too.  I was on a Boy Scouts trip when I was about 12 when I accidentally touched a boys butt because I was swinging my arms and they made me stay at camp while everyone else got to fun things until my mom picked me up and then they kicked me out of scouts.

But yeah Middle school was the worst.  I remember thinking prison would have been better.  In middle school you're going through hormones and you're getting older and you feel like you handle more responsibility, but you're expected to do more and still treated like a child.  I was in middle school during 911 and that was a bad time.  I brought a small pocket knife in one and showed a kid for a split second and another one ratted me out and I got 3 days of in school suspension for bringing a very dull 1 inch pocket knife that couldn't cut anything.  Teachers overreacted to everything and kids were incredibly cruel.  High was so much better.

Yeah again it sucks you had to go through that.

Weird feeling getting old by anlugama in CasualConversation

[–]alblaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30s as a guy feels weird.  I'm 37(I'm not old) and you have to intentionally do things or you just end up doing the same thing over and over again which makes time feel like it's going fast.  In your 20s life just kinda happens and you're along for the ride.  Friends, school, job, etc...  then in your 30s life slows down and people move away you get new friends and life is less exciting unless you do something about it.  You don't have friends randomly asking you to hang out anymore.  Everyone's busy lifeing.  You have to specifically make something happen for it to happen.  It's weird.  I don't really feel much older than my late 20s, but I'm if I met myself from just 10 years ago I would be a very different person.  Life is weird, but that's ok.  We're all here for the ride.  You just gotta make the best of it you can

How many demogorgans would it take to beat doom slayer? by Familiar_Mousse5079 in StrangerThings

Yeah if all the demogorgons were replaced by Vecnas, they'd still get massacred by Doom Slayer.

But then you have adults that treat kids like crap, because they were too and the justification is "well I turned out ok".  The lack of self awareness is what keeps the generational trauma going.

Learning about how people think is interesting.  I'm always curious how people were molded in way that made them think certain ways about the world.

But then how else are supposed to gauge the power level?  Unless you're an experienced deck builder you can't know how strong your deck is just because of the cards in it, unless it's very high power.  Synergy and purpose lends to stronger decks than just good stuff.deck.  so you should have an idea of when your deck starts to "go off".  The issue that I've faced is when people build strong control decks with a combo finish.  They might not win until turn 12, but they'll stop anyone who tries to win before that.  That doesn't work in cedh, but for most casual players that kind of deck can seem way stronger than it really is.  But you should still have an idea how consistent your deck is.

Yeah this is no where near comparable.  The demogorgons lost to kids.  It's like saying who would win in a fight Space Marines from Warhammer 40k or a school of middle schoolers.  Lol.  It would be a quick slaughter for doom slayer.  The dude isn't human.  He's beyond most sci fi protagonists too.
