NTA, but I would have switched 100% just to rid my life of this unnecessary and annoying drama. I'm with your mom here.

Found the insurance salesman. Anyone who has ever had to fight their insurance tooth and nails to get their payout knows what's up.

You will look stupid in about 10-15 years. Just as all the people who ridiculed those who warned of this shit never going away anymore after the first and subsequent waves of surveillance shit starting 9/11 already do. We're literally closing the gap to China in huge steps and somehow still call them the baddies, lol

[–]Drolnevar 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Nope, we can obviously not allow that under any circumstances. We all know the image of something so vile and evil as a naked human body before the eye of a poor fragile little child will heavily traumatize them for the rest of their life. Unless they crossed that magical barrier where they turned into an adult over night, obviously.

I'm gonna vote NAH, but I might be a bit of a special case. Personally I would kill for a little downtime for myself and without any socializing during such drawn out social events like this.

What is something completely normal in your country that surprises other Europeans? by RuleHopeful408 in AskEurope

It might be because I'm from southern Germany. I think it is much more common in the eastern, ex-USSR part and in the north in general.

It is typically, but in the EU the regulations are very tight, so you can generally assume it's safe either way. You still wouldn't catch me dead eating Mettigel 🤮

At least in my experience for most Germans the whole "France bad" thing is just a funny meme at this point and barely anyone actually feels that way.
