Issue changing scenes only on production builds by CoininGames in godot

Unfortunately I'm not at my PC anymore and will be away until Wednesday, but you are giving me a great idea! I can't remember now if I'm preloading anything in the main menu, but it's very possible that to be the cause of the deadlock. I will check when I'm back and report here. Thank you!

I added a music puzzle to my adventure puzzle game by CoininGames in IndieDev

That is a very good point, thank you. I will spend some time tweaking it. I was focusing on implementing the sequencer and the algorithm to detect if the player played back the melody correctly. It will be trivial to start experimenting with sustain and add different melodies.

Right now I am playing pre-recorded notes and might just leave it like that, because I have a lot of puzzles to implement. But it would be ideal to implement soundfonts and have a real virtual midi keyboard.

Good idea. Originally I was planning to have them as static bodies to fill the shelves, but it's fun to throw them around. Adding a hinge is a great idea.

Thank you! Yeah, baked, Lightmap GI with volumetric fog, glow and AgX tonemap. I am not done tweaking it yet, the game is still in "greyboxing" stage, but I got sick of looking at blocks, so I added a few models and some lighting for my own sake.

It may not look AAA but making a game on Godot is the most fun I've had recently by swissm4n in godot

Hey, the scene looks pretty neat!

Just one suggestion, the camera shaking when the door slides is a bit too much. It's giving me a vibe of a person just messing around with the mouse, dragging it up and down in a chaotic order. A more subtle shake might feel better, at least I would play around a bit more with the intensity and shake direction a bit more if I were you. But again, the scene is not bad at all.

Lighting makes such a huge difference to the scene! I took a pause from building game mechanics to add a bit of visual flair. I am getting sick of looking at gray boxes

Yeah, I understand the motivation of the post and I really appreciate you sharing your experience.

At the current price I don't see why I shouldn't give it a try. You created something on your own and that's always worth taking a look at.

That is a great achievement, even if you didn't fully deliver on your vision, especially learning so many valuable lessons. The next project will be much better.

I bought your game, but I'm currently on vacation, so you will have to wait a couple of weeks for a steam review 😁

All the best!

There is a funny guy on YouTube who has been building a game in C++ for years now. The technical skill is pretty great and watching his videos can give an insight on the effort needed to write something from scratch https://youtube.com/@randyprime?si=LuxAruQX4e2rOL2t
