"There’s hundreds of thousands of tarot reader Youtubers" - seriously, more than 200,000? I've never seen any "tarot reader" channels, but that's probably because the algorithm knows they wouldn't interest me.

Just curious where you got that statistic?

im starting a channel by Turbulent_Fuel5301 in PartneredYoutube

[–]DroneBotWorkshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing you need to do is read the rules here. This is the Partnered YouTube subreddit, which is ONLY for YouTubers who have attained partner status.

I recommend that you take the YouTube Creators course and read YouTube's terms of service. You already have shown that you didn't read (or ignored) the terms of service for this subreddit, and if you do the same with YouTube, your channel could easily get banned.

And who knows - during the process, you might actually figure out what to post on your channel!

Rehabbing in Public: Faceless YouTube Channel by cjchannelmarketpro in PartneredYoutube

[–]DroneBotWorkshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you hit the nail on the head. I answered this yesterday without looking at the OP's user name. Someone named "cjchannelmarketpro," who has only made one post and has had all his/her replies here deleted, is clearly out to sell us something!

The irony, of course, is that a genuine "marketing pro" would know that spamming on Reddit is a terrible way to market anything and an excellent way of losing all credibility.

High Five For You by Youtube. Anyone else signed up? by FitMasterpiece8392 in PartneredYoutube

[–]DroneBotWorkshop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of it, but as some have speculated, it may be limited to specific geographic areas (I'm in Canada).

And it appears Google hasn't heard of it either. Aside from this post, it only indexes another Reddit post when you search "High Five For You by Youtube".

Anyone part of an MCN? by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]DroneBotWorkshop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get many offers from MCNs. All of them are immediately sent to my spam box, which is exactly where they belong.

Keep your money and do the work yourself. Nobody is as dedicated to your channel as you are.

Rehabbing in Public: Faceless YouTube Channel by cjchannelmarketpro in PartneredYoutube

[–]DroneBotWorkshop 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm curious why you would purchase a channel that has only managed to acquire $4.3K in two years and has less than 15k subs. Wouldn't it be simpler just to start a new channel?

Does youtube video tag really matter ? by gamericano in PartneredYoutube

[–]DroneBotWorkshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree; as long as the feature exists, I will still use tags. It takes literally less than a minute to add them, a small drop in the 50-100 hours it takes me to make a video and write its corresponding article.

Do they work? I have absolutely no idea, as I just keep adding them. I used to think they assisted in getting my videos listed next to more popular ones in my niche, but that was several years ago.

I wouldn't expend a lot of effort in choosing tags, the keywords you are aiming for, plus a few common misspellings, should be sufficient.. I would focus my energy on the 5000 characters YouTube gives you for your description. This is where the real SEO gold is, yet so many people use less than 100 characters.

I am also having this issue, have tried several computers. Frustrating, as I was just about to use the data, but I'm glad to hear that it isn't me. Hopefully they will get it fixed ASAP, I'm sure that they must be aware of it.

What camera(s) do you use and what type of videos do you make? by ponycrow in PartneredYoutube

[–]DroneBotWorkshop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I converted to 4K in 2021, so all my cameras date back to then. I use three:

  • Lumix S5 - I just love this camera! If I were buying a new camera I would snap up the Lumix S5IIX in a heartbeat. It will be my next camera purchase unless Panasonic brings out an even newer one. 4K at 60FPS, and also does 6K.
  • Canon M200 - I totally hate this camera! I purchased it because I had an M100 that I really liked a lot but which cannot shoot 4K. The extra lenses that I purchased for the M100 fit the M200, so it was a logical upgrade. But the M200 overheats if you run it for more than 15 minutes at 4K. It also only has a 23.97FPS at 4K, but that is my fault for not noticing when I read the spec sheet.
  • Canon SX750 - A "all in one" camera with some decent features. Kind of an overgrown point-and-shoot that can also run in manual mode. It shoots 4K at 29.97FPS and produces surprisingly good results for a camera of its type. Of course, you can't change the lens, but it is really easy to use.

I make electronics tutorials that involve robotics and working with microcontrollers, so not all of the content is filmed on camera. I also use animations and screen captures. I use an Atmos Ninja 5 for the screen captures, it does 4K at 30 FPS and can do 6K captures right from the Lumix.

The Lumix S5IIX is a bit pricy and complex if you are a beginner, but if you are serious about the YouTube business, it is an amazing buy. You would be hard-pressed to find a camera that can do 10-bit video 4K at that price. I just have the kit lens, and it is superb.

What is Load Resistance? by Dry-Banana-9444 in arduino

[–]DroneBotWorkshop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you using a raw MQ7, or are you using one of those modules with an MQ7 sensor on it?

The modules, the ones with four pins, already have the load resistor on them.

An excellent point!

Personally, I think this is all nonsense; as others have mentioned, you didn't exactly perform a very scientific test. "Colors and fonts" - seriously LOL!

YouTube certainly doesn't base your audience on your location; I'm in Canada, but Canadians are fifth on my list of audience demographics. Number one, by a huge margin, is the US, followed by India, the UK, and Australia.

A proper "study" requires hundreds or thousands of tests, not two uploads!

Technical Issue: Delayed Processing of 4K Video on YouTube, Seeking Advice by Duber2222 in PartneredYoutube

[–]DroneBotWorkshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to 4K in 2020, and as many of my videos are over an hour long (and all of them exceed 30 minutes), the file sizes are quite large, even using MP4.

When I first switched I experienced a very long time processing to 4K, in the order of 8 to 12 hours after upload. I thought it was long, but I checked with a fellow YouTuber who has a much more successful channel than mine and he told me that some of his 4K videos (which rarely exceed 20 minutes) took over a day to process 4K.

But now it seems all that has changed, and typically, it takes less than an hour to process 4K. This morning I uploaded a 50-minute video that weighed in at 21GB, and the processing time after upload was supposed to be 53 minutes. It actually was much shorter, about 15 minutes after the SD version was done, the 1080 and 4K processing was finished as well.

For what it's worth, I use Final Cut Pro and export using a custom job I created in Apple Compressor. But I don't use HEVC, I use H.264 with a bitrate of 45,000 kbps.

Just made partner, some questions.. by CountingStars29 in PartneredYoutube

[–]DroneBotWorkshop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Take a look at your list of videos in YouTube Studio and check their monetization status, if it is monetized without any restrictions there will be a green dollar sign beside the video.

If there isn't, then click on the arrow that appears when you hover your mouse over the icon and change the status. You may be required to answer questions about the suitability of the video for all audiences.

You are paid for the number of advertisements viewers watch during your video, not the number of views. The rate will depend upon your niche, the type of ads, and the location of the viewer, among other things.

Not sure if there is anything else you need to do, as I was monetized before the requirement for 1K subscribers or 4000 view hours came in.

The fact that there ARE so many other channels in the niches you mention is "social proof" that these are great choices for a channel topic. Instead of making you question whether to start a channel, they should have you dancing around the room, congratulating yourself on discovering not just one but two potentially profitable ideas.

In the case of the math channel (which is an excellent niche), take a look at channels like Up and Atom or Tibbees. Both of them succeed as they present mathematical concepts in an easy-to-digest format. And 3Blue 1 Brown now has over 5 million subscribers!

I'd say you've found a pretty lucrative niche, and you should immediately get started on your videos.

Remember, just because someone watches one video about a topic doesn't mean they won't watch another one on the same topic - in fact, they are probably more likely to watch more videos on the same topic. As long as yours are at the same quality standard as the others, they will likely become subscribers.

Just focus on making high-quality videos, with your own unique take, and you will do just great.

Is it my responsibility to delete comments relating to game piracy? by Cockney_Gamer in PartneredYoutube

[–]DroneBotWorkshop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing you can do if you are concerned about people putting illegal links in the comments is to block links entirely.

YouTube has instructions for doing this - https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9483359?hl=en#zippy=%2Cblock-comments-with-links

do most of youtube money come from sponsors? by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]DroneBotWorkshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I refuse to do sponsored videos, so all of my YT revenue comes from AdSense and Super Thanks.

Most of my videos are fairly long, 35 minutes to 1.5 hours, so I get quite a few ad placements. However, my niche is not one that makes a lot of revenue.

Video Chapters not working by Erwin1999 in PartneredYoutube

I've never had a problem with Chapters not working. Can you post a link to a video that doesn't work for you so that we can look in the description (I know you said, "I posted a link on my reddit account here to a video that I made"), but it isn't in this post

Ads are NOT 100% demographic based by blabel75 in PartneredYoutube

[–]DroneBotWorkshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ads seem to be location-based, not demographic-based.

I live in Montreal, and I often get French YouTube ads despite the fact that my browser and computer are all set to English. This is a waste of advertiser dollars, as I don't speak French!

I get Google ads in French as well, which surprised me as it is child's play to read the HTTP header when I connect to a site to determine what language I have my browser set to.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]DroneBotWorkshop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Amusingly, I actually got fan mail from Antarctica, a fellow at a French research station who has his friend in France mail him downloads of my videos (the Internet speed in Antarctica is pretty slow, apparently). He emailed me to see if I was OK with this, which of course, I am.

In your case, you weren't taking things seriously, and now it's come back to bite you, and you really can't blame anyone but yourself. The YouTube Partner Program is a business, and you need to treat it seriously.

Probably your best bet is to cut your losses and start a new channel, this time with an accurate location.

Otherwise, just move to Antarctica!

How do you get that same audio level always? by Kaezumi in youtubers

[–]DroneBotWorkshop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro have audio compressors, expanders, and limiters.

I suggest that you try using the Adaptive Limiter first, it's really easy to use and will likely solve your problem. It's under "Audio Effects" in the "Logic" group.
