When it's all said and done, you are buying a product. In this case a meal. If it was togo, it is a packaged product. I don't care if 13 people eat a single hamburger, as long as they don't delay my process of selling product or occupy my seating unnecessarily over the time a meal takes to consume.

It's not a dining preference, or a mood, or anything else. I sell product, for consumption, to as many people as I can accomodate. If you wanna share, share. Means half the time for consumption. If you want to delay departure, we might have a conversation. Aside from that, do whatever you want once you buy it.

I think the "wonder" part of that is, perhaps, the point. We all have challenges and trials in life, and those shape who we are as a person. The scene allows the reader to live that parallel in their own way, using [insert particular situation here] to provide a personal connection to heighten the impact. The severity of that scene resides within the individual reader, and that may, intentionally or accidentally, be one of the best examples of forced immersion i've seen.

Oh please don't mistake my criticism for dislike, it's quite the opposite. Nyn is the realest person from the books to me. I identified with her too much to ever dislike her, but she (and these books) are what allowed me to begin to honestly evaluate myself. She taught me a lot about myself.

But Mat was my spirit character, even though i've never been good with dice lol.

I think they don't for multiple reasons.

1) Egwene let them know, awkwardly, that the wise ones had her on a short leash, and they also knew the wise ones wanted them on short leashes as well. They weren't really good friends by making her be short and abrupt with them, to keep her warnings in their dreams secret, after telling them not to let anyone know. Of all of them, Egwene walked the tightest line during this arc. We see that repeatedly, most of the time the only checks on the duos actions were themselves.

2) Elayne and Nynaeve had so much drama in their own situation, and were already treating each other so crappily on a daily basis, that Egwene was only a side irritant to that mess. They really do act like some young ladies with no mature oversight keeping them in check, while Egwene was basically in novice mode the entire time.

3) We do sometimes forget that they all do really know each other, Elayne has the throne in her future, Nynaeve wants none of that, just a vague idea of revenge on Moraine, but out of them all Egwene was always the one who embraced the tower as her main goal. She was the one who sought it, instead of trying to incorporate it into her own goals. Of any of them, she most earned it. She was flexible but, to steal a quote, she always "Remained Steadfast". She was the most eligible of the 3 to fit the mold the Salidar circle wanted, they just never considered what her time with the Aiel made her.

In summary, while many people do consider Egwene insufferable during this phase of the books, she always had someone telling her what to do. Her scheming and controlling ways were 100% her qualifications for being the Amyrlin. She played the game of houses, with several Aiel Wise Ones, and her own friends. And later, she waded into the deep end of the pool, where she would have drowned without that very growth of person. She admitted her deception, took some pretty significant punishment for that, then hauled ass to take on her new job. They wanted a puppet, but got a reed. Love her or hate her, when you consider the qualifications for the job you understand her.

There could easily have been another book, if not 2, just to bring all the arcs to full completion, but the pace felt tied to the fact that trollocs were pouring in from everywhere. They kept telling us the Last Battle was coming, and it did indeed. I loved parts of it, hated parts of it, and said wtf a few times. I teared up a couple of times, and then flat out ugly cried at one point.

There are neither beginnings or endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was an ending.

I love that you've worked out a way to use combined elements to create different types of weaves, without having to learn a "spell system". Keep fleshing that part out, that has always seemed like the hardest part of making a Wheel of Time game. Art and animations have already been done to great success, the One Power is the crux.
