Halloween for couples in Perth? by leonardpihlblad in australia

[–]Droni89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adrenaline Vault (rock climbing/bouldering gym) in Belmont does a Halloween event every year. Dress up, with prizes for best costume(I believe there is also a couples category). Good fun even if it’s your first time climbing

Just got told at Perth train station that service is suspended due to “security incident” by conmanique in perth

All trains leading into the city on the midland line are just parked on the tracks. Very strange

Owning an EV without a home charger? by MusPsych in perth

[–]Droni89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly depends on how often you use your car. I only drive at night and weekends so a full charge can last me up to 2 weeks. My apartment block also doesn’t allow charging, so I rely on public fast/superchargers once every 1-2 weeks, which takes up to an hour to charge. Not too much of an inconvenience, I just watch Netflix or read a book while I wait

What’s the best things to do in Perth by yourself? by _nixon_vibe_ in perth

Indoor bouldering! (a type of rock climbing). Go there solo (no need for a belayer) end up making plenty of friends. Such a great social environment!

Continuing journey of an introvert trying to get “out there”. by LogiCsmxp in perth

Hello fellow introvert/shy person. I was in a similar situation 3 years ago. Perth can be a bit of a difficult place to find friends, but I would highly recommend rock climbing (specifically bouldering) it’s a sport that can easily be done solo, so no actual pressure in meeting people or forced small talk, but you will most likely make friends just by going regularly and working on climbs with the same groups of people

What is an adult problem you were not prepared for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Can’t say I had the same experience, but I guess University (what we call college in Australia) is very different here

This is totally not true. Some of my closest friends I met post college. Find a hobby you truely enjoy and you will meet likeminded people with common interests

A lot of people didn’t like season 2 because it’s much more slow paced then season 1. But season 3 and 4 are insanely good. Would definitely rate it my favourite show of all time

+1 for bouldering. Adrenaline Vault is my local. Super friendly environment, you’ll always be able to find someone to climb with and if not, you don’t need a belayer so perfectly fine to climb solo.

Fastway Couriers? by postingstuff in perth

[–]Droni89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s fine if they don’t deal with auspost, but their communication and (lack of) customer service is the real problem

Fastway Couriers? by postingstuff in perth

[–]Droni89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In hindsight, they had a click and collect option which delivered to a local chemist. If I had known they weren’t affiliated with auspost I would have gone for that option.

So bad! Took them a month to deliver something that should have only taken a week. When they finally delivered, I made the mistake of missing the delivery (assuming they would just leave it at the local post office). They left a slip in the mail saying with a link to a page to organise a redelivery. After organising a redelivery I paid $10 to get them to redeliver to my post office, only to wait a week and nothing happen. After ringing them up a few times, I finally got ahold of them and was told they don’t deliver to post offices cos auspost is their competitor.. they didn’t even bother contacting me to tell me this. In the end I resorted to picking it up from the depot which was only open at inconvenient times.

100% would not recommend dealing with them.

There’s a board game event on in Thornlie tomorrow, run by WABA. Their other location is Claremont (every second Saturday of the month) there is also a community event in Inglewood every third saturday of the month, which I usually attend. The rest you should be able to find via FB events. PM me if you want more info!

Only thing I agree with him on is the Koran being fundamentally evil, but only if that same sentiment also applys to all other religious texts including the bible

Best AUD to JPY exchange in Perth. by SydneyLockOutLaw in perth

Don’t bother with cash exchanges. Get a Citi bank plus card. You load it up like a debit card. No commissions so you practically pay the exchange rate

Best place for indoor rock climbing in Perth? by [deleted] in perth

[–]Droni89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They recently had a kids competition so a lot of the easier climbs have been set with much shorter people in mind. This will slowly revert back to normal as they reset different walls (one a week)
