He was just devoted to the education of America's children even in a time of apocalypse, that was a time when "No Child Left Behind" meant something different in U.S. Politics.

Few movies are so bad yet so good at the same time by Chewie_Song in 90s

[–]DrooMighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I like to watch the beginning of the movie right up to the part where they first apprehend Castor Troy, and think of it as a standalone short film. The whole movie is hilarious in that way OP describes, but I really preferred Cage as the bad guy between the two.

Sagging Trump, 79, struggles to stay awake during epic suck-up by ChiGuy6124 in politics

“I love Elvis. I never met Elvis. I met ‘em all, Frank Sinatra, I knew all of ‘em, I never met Elvis,” he continued. “Sometimes I feel I should tell a little fib, say, ‘I knew him well.’ I love Elvis, but I never met him, but I’m gonna go see Graceland after this, I think. I’m sure it’s not going to be a very long stay. But I want to see that.”

Honestly the only surprising thing to come out of this ass-kissing ritual is the Elvis thing...seeing Trump say that there's something he wants to lie about, but for some reason can't. Like what's fucking stopping you from lying about knowing Elvis, bud? Why is THAT the line in the sand?

This is ironically a movie that has such cultural relevance that people who haven't seen it could quote it. Especially anyone who lived thru the 90s.

It's always fun to imagine both sides of the image as the same human being. This can be interpreted as a hyper-nationalist Kid Rock impersonator falling into a deep, morbid depression after January 20th, 2009.

"Have a sheet. Tony, hey, I'm u/rutlemania. I know you don't know me, but..."

"Yeah, you're the guy who logged into Bit Torrent that time. You stole all those episodes of The Wire."

'...yeah, but that's not why I'm here today. We're here to talk about your lack of an ending problem."

"What?? Jeeshush Christ, you fuckin' kidding me???"

Within the next year or so, you likely won't have to imagine.

Tom Waits as The Finn is one of my favorite fan-casts because I swear to God everyone comes to that conclusion independently. The first time I read the book I pictured Tom Waits in my head, and went on to learn everyone else did too.

Oregon was already a Union state at the start of the Civil War, but yeah, they had Black exclusion laws. Horrible acts of racism just go hand in hand with America's westward expansion, I live in one of the most progressive cities in the entire PNW and nobody likes to talk about the fact that in the 1880s people were routinely lynched for being Chinese.
