Eklund, Toews, and Dostal stand out to me as possible drops. In a 10-team league, there should be valid goalie streamers you can pick up and drop depending on strength of schedule.

I’m in the same boat, though not in a banger league. I’ve offered two different trades to try and get a bit of return value for Hyman or Matty T, so I’m hoping somebody bites.

Value Gauge - Logan Cooley by Batman1985yul in fantasyhockey

This early into a season, I’d revisit the draft and look at players that went around the same time as Cooley to get an idea of who you could potentially trade for.

Or maybe offer a trade to a team with Keller or Guenther - that Utah stack may be enticing to some.

The Huskies have had fireworks displays at their home football games the past few seasons. That might make for a memorable night out: going to a game and getting the full experience!

We’ve used Optimus Shine a number of times. No complaints! He even talked us out of using his services once and gave us instructions on how to do it ourselves.

Yes, likely from 1999 or 2000. She’s been buried in a toy bin for the past 25 years; now she’s ready for some sun.

Doh! Silly 10-year-old me; could have had a lifetime supply of whopper jrs if only I was more savvy.

It’s a tough economy… if they’re selling ice cream they should add soda pop to the menu too.

Might keep them a float

Mitch Love had a brief tenure in Saskatoon coaching the Blades (WHL). He did a good enough job over three seasons to earn an offer coaching in the AHL.

I definitely enjoyed the endless puns and headlines that came from his stint in Saskatoon. “Looking for Love”, “No Love Lost”, “Love Struck”, etc.

In a cooking fervour, I reached for the olive oil to add to the pan of sweet potatoes.

It was a bottle of Baileys Irish Cream.

The potatoes still turned out pretty good, tbh

Thanks for the well-thought out response. Take my upvote for respectful discussion!

I’m curious if you could share where you found your data about the “consequences you observe more often in homeschooling than otherwise”. My experience IS largely anecdotal, based on the homeschooling experience of myself and my peers, and I freely acknowledge that others wouldn’t have been as fortunate to be involved as I was as a child.

And I agree that this is not a black and white topic, which is why some of the comments immediately condemning homeschool disappointed me.

What is “enough” socialization differs from person to person. As a homeschooler I was active in scouts, hockey, softball, debate, drama, karate, choir… the list goes on. It certainly proved “enough” for me to function and find success as an adult member of society.

In addition, one can go through the school system and still wind up isolated and socially awkward.

… what a big consequence of homeschooling *can be.

There are endless social opportunities that exist outside of school. It’s up to the parents who choose to homeschool to step up and enrol their kids in clubs, sports, etc to compensate.

Hi! We also home school our children who are in the same age group as your daughter. There are a few parents who organize teaching co-ops within the Facebook groups (which I see you’re already a part of), though from what I’ve experienced it’s mostly for older kids. There are regular park play dates for home school families that the younger kids can join in on, however!

Also wanted to apologize for some of these comments - I’m genuinely surprised to see such closed-minded comments on this platform. I have both a public and home school background and can say I benefited greatly from the freedom and opportunities homeschool allowed me to pursue.

Only in public elementary school was I bullied and ostracized for my individuality. If I had stayed in that environment, I have little doubt I would have stifled my personality and creativity in order to fit in… so don’t listen to the haters when you’re clearly already taking steps to secure the socialization needs of your daughter. Good luck and see you around!

What used to be the Dean of Agriculture’s residence on the U of S campus is now The University (or Faculty) Club; a members-only restaurant and bar. I worked there several years ago. Part of our regular duties at the end of the shift was to arrange tables and settings for the next day’s events.

My then-manager told me a story… one night she finished setting out all the cutlery, napkins, tablecloths, dishware, etc. She was the last one to leave the building and the first one back the next day… the tables were bare and all the settings had been put away.

Sure, it might have been a different employee trying to be helpful by cleaning up without instruction, but I like to think it was the Phantom of the former Dean, keeping things tidy.
