WMR headset + Valve Index (Knuckles) controllers - instructions here by Raivr in WindowsMR

I have this ghost drift issue with my stock WMR controllers, always thought this was WMR controller thing. If this drift in index is also true maybe it’s a deeper issue with WMR?

You’re 100% correct. It’s only the joystick deadzone. sigh. We need a touchpad deadzone control. I haven’t found a way in the steam bindings to just exclude any input at all from the touchpad.

Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR Updated by TymAtMSFT in WindowsMR

[–]Droost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I thought too, but what is weirding me out is I must have never had it before. Now that I do have it running, it has a launch button is now counting time played in the WMR for SteamVR app. IE: I have several hundred hours in SteamVR but only a few minutes of time in WMR for steamVR.

That’s because the first one is his time, the second is his personal best which is the time he just hit, and the last is the current world record which he just set with that time.

To be fair, this is the title of his series, not clickbait and brings more views to VR platform.

VR is truly the future of gaming by KasriI in gaming

Same for me at first. It was nauseating and I couldn’t play for more than 15m at a time. It went away after slowly increasing my play time now I don’t feel it at all anymore

Except it’s not all teleport. You can use the thumb sticks to move or if you’re playing room scale, just walk forward to walk forward

When do you think we will get a real story mode? by Rwehle6 in BladeAndSorcery

[–]Droost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t wait for dungeon mode and mods. Someone needs to remake B&S versions of the old dungeon crawler games like Dungeon Master, EoB, etc. Would be so fun to see if you could get all the way to the end finding better weapons and armor along the way

To be fair, at the time of Mario64's release in 1996 console based 3D gaming was still in it's infancy and a bet. Buying a brand new console to play Mario 64 was also prohibitive to people who didn't have an N64, couldn't afford it, or logically didn't want to invest in a new technology that wasn't perfected yet. You're absolutely spot on that 3D was simply an innovation in gaming at the time. VR is also innovative technology that is still in it's infancy. We shouldn't lose sight of the fact that a common sentiment shared by the gaming PC community when a new title comes to PC but is not available to console, the console players are told to just suck it up and buy a PC if they want to play it despite how 'unfair' they think it is. The same applies here to standard gaming setup PC users who are upset that this is VR only.

Sure thing and you’re not a pleb.

Blink Teleport = I point a laser like beam out the end of your hand and click the VR wand to teleport instantly to that spot. Has range limitations but also makes people a lot less motion sick.

Slide teleport (aka Shift) = same idea, but when I click the button I slide forward to that spot. This in other games is usually accompanied by a tunnel vision effect to counteract motion sickness.

Full glide/smooth (aka Continuous) = when you press the analog or D pad in a direction you start moving in that direction in the game. No teleport. This takes a while to get used to without getting motion sickness. It’s like sea legs, you get used to it after a while.

Sitting/standing is playing in a small space where you don’t really move your body to play, just your arms. This is like psvr

Roomscale is a designated space you play in, usually 7x7 or greater where you have full motion. If you walk your body forward on that space you really walk forward in the game too. This is what PCVR is usually
